I don't want to start a flame war, and above all I don't want to ruin your page, but there are people here who on a review of B&dCoG even expressed themselves like this: "These days I remember nothing of them except the immense sense of uselessness they gave me back then," and now they even have the luxury to "recommend" or consider it "suggestive"... ahahahahahahah... Please! What a character!
Getting back to the record, I listened to it as soon as it came out, but it went by too smoothly, too smoothly; I need to give it another spin. With the self-titled album or any work from their alter ego The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation, though, you can't go wrong.

Well, the debate caught my attention, and I must say it's not that bad. Sure, the genre and the voice don't appeal to me, but those are just preferences. Objectively (subjectively), I place it a notch above the list of names in comment 18, for instance.

I don't like it (that's why I didn't do the review Mich..), it seems to me like The Hawk is Howling part two, but much more of a sellout. Then it's obvious that they know how to work with sounds and the sound quality is always very high, but to put it briefly, it feels like a Radiohead album. The beauty of Mogwai is that, thanks to a very refined sound-melodic crossover, they can knock you down, but when they add the vocoder it seems (?) like they’re just messing with you and it all fades away. That's what my friend Appe thinks, but it doesn't matter. Cheers! :)
