After Daft Punk's experiment with the soundtrack for "Tron Legacy," the trend of electronic groups delving into soundtracks seems to explode. However, this time it's not just another band, but a point of reference!  The Chemical Brothers were born to make a difference, and they continue to prove it to us.

"Hanna," the action thriller directed by Joe Wright, will be accompanied by none other than a load of sounds and music entirely composed by Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons! Does this seem suspicious to you? It did to me before listening to the CD, but I had the pleasure of completely changing my mind.

Inspired music, far from soulless commercial operations. What initially seemed like a simple attempt to copy Daft Punk and other groups venturing into the genre has proven to be a very personal and passionate project. Just a few months after the release of their "Further," this soundtrack at times sounds like a new studio album! (Not surprisingly, several music critics have already highlighted the superiority compared to the works of their friends). Showcasing a range of psychedelic and pulsing sounds like only they know how! Unlike the French Daft, who combined digital music with an entire classical orchestra to score "Tron Legacy" (with a great result, but far from the Daft planet), the chemical brothers chose to stay true to their style, creating the usual cerebral journey they have accustomed us to. A decision that, in my opinion, makes this album superior to that of their colleagues. Sure.. some rhymes are replayed at various points in the album, there are some repetitive moments, but soundtracks are known for recurring themes mixed according to the film's atmospheres. For the rest... 100% Chemical Brothers! Electronic mixed with rock bases, a blend of techno, trip hop, funky almost experimental and psychedelia, harmonies of various genres, masterful sound manipulations, and a pursuit of ever more spatial sounds (the days of Push The Button are now buried, here we find the best vintage Chemical).

Is the film good or bad? It doesn't matter, close your eyes and listen to this stuff on a cinema sound system! They're back! Have a good trip!
