Starblazer, I respect your opinions but I just don’t understand them… I share the view on 3 but not as a comeback after Triumph, rather as a slight step backward.. Triumph was innovative, this brings them back to more beaten paths.. that doesn’t take away from it being a very enjoyable album, at least for me.. then I disagree on Courage, which you define as ā€œsurely the most human, moving, and intense ballad ever written by Joey DeMaio, a piece that just can’t not be likedā€ …and where do we place Heart Of Steel then? there it truly had everything and Adams delivered a heartfelt and beautiful performance.. this Courage instead is, in my opinion, much inferior.. then to define Triumph as ā€œmaccheronico e indigestoā€ is a huge load of crap in my opinion.. well...

Well done, great review! The conclusion is nice too! Unfortunately, even though I am Venetian, I have never heard of them..

Hello, Battlegods!! Thanks as always! I will definitely give Drak Quarterer and RAF a listen; right now, I'm checking out some interesting stuff, like Rage, Hocculta, and Exciter, a bit random too, let’s say! Maybe I’ll discover something strong in that gold mine! I’ve already listened to some Saint Vitus and Impaler..! It’s been a while since we last caught up on Debaser… how are you? I think and imagine that this might be a bit of a chaotic time for you; isn't it usually at the end of January that all the exams and assessments for the first semester pile up? Damn, the memories that come to mind!! Anyway, bye!!

Hello, Battlegods! It's been a while since you and I had a nice chat!! :) !! Yes, Manowar represent a purer Epic, and as I mentioned before, sometimes even exaggerated in their expressions (nevertheless, I adore them with all my Metal Heart, hehehehe!!), while Bathory have an Epic that has indeed been defined as Viking, since it is more expressive of the reality and feelings of Scandinavia, look at the recent case of Forn Sidr: in the Scandinavian region, in my opinion, there are still numerous open wounds, given the relatively recent and forced Christianization (once again, the case of Forn Sidr): this explains the violence of phenomena like certain extremist fringes of Black metal (like the famous [or mythical?] Inner Circle) and the flourishing of Viking Metal, an artistic expression that is equally nationalist and anti-Christian as the Norsk Arysk Black Metal promoted by Count Burzum. Quorthon loved his land with all his soul: that’s the fundamental difference between him and Manowar: he felt deeply the things he played and sang, while they represent a segment of Epic that, although foundational and essential, is more of a divertissement, like an epic nature almost for its own sake, despite touching moments like "Into Glory Ride" or "Hail To England"... I apologize for the lengthy comment: I just came back from a night out with friends, it’s past midnight and I've had a few too many beers!! Anyway, the point is clear: Quorthon was truly great, but at the same time Hail to Manowar!!

@Beenees: ah, ok! I must have misunderstood your earlier comment.. well, indeed, the Manowar song is epic even for fun, but nonetheless I think it’s still appreciable..! of course, this epic is very different, true, it’s more.. I could say.. felt, lived! It expresses what Quorthon truly felt, while Manowar are a bit of the usual exaggerators, yet their merits must be recognized, ..then, as usual, the customary "de gustibus".. I for instance love them (not that it wasn't clear from my nickname, right?)!!

@clemente mastella: "I'm a piece of junk
because that's how I like it
I pump myself up
if I never wash
I'm a piece of junk
smelling of manure
I never abandon
my dump" ...happy now? Now that I've sung the Atroci to you, you little clown? Go brush your teeth now, or your mom will scold you and won't give you your allowance, bye!
