Oh yeah, Music From The Elder was actually a very brave album for Kiss...

@Newromantic: um, to be honest, it's the only cover photo I found online, the others had the title of this work along with the dialogues of the dead... obviously the version I have is more polished (even though I can't say anything about this one, which I've never seen)...

@Geenoo: uh, thank you! :D well, I can't really disagree with you on the rest, unfortunately, that's how it is.. in their career, they've gradually slipped more and more towards the commercial side, obviously in the sense that the term can have for a group like this... what can we do? :) I listen to them mostly for what their early albums left me... @OO°Terry°OO: do you think that's why Dani nicknamed himself "FILTH"? :D @Icnarf: ..uh, I gather that you're not very fond of them! :D

Well, then, it's very difficult... first of all, I don't think there's any irony regarding his crimes: even the band's lyrics, which elsewhere willingly dwell on sordid and bloody details, here gloss over the actual atrocity of what was being perpetrated... let me explain better: the irony isn't about the crimes or the victims, but about the criminal, entirely rooted in his excessive personality (well, excessive is putting it mildly)... from this, you can deduce that the crimes themselves horrify (in addition to us) even Mr. Daniele Sudiciume, who rather wanted to relive the terror and horror that even merely mentioning the name of the criminal evokes... the Cradle certainly do not wish to defend this bloodthirsty depraved individual, but to generate horror, which is the hallmark of their entire artistic career. It's clear that I would also hang the aforementioned Count if I had him in my hands, but the album only aims to be the musical equivalent of a horror film...

So, a thank you to @Anatas (p.s.: we'll talk!), @Dark Schneider, and @Sorciopeloso!! Then, @Geenoo: this was essentially what Mr. Gilles De Rais did in his sordid existence: he combined the "useful" (human sacrifice, instigated by a certain Prelati who catered to the count's passion for the occult, to a demon named Barron, who would grant him power and wealth) with the "pleasurable" (his natural sexual depravity towards children and adolescents, whom he would already violate and kill on his own)... the Cradle analyze, of course, the splatter and occult aspects of this criminal's story, getting lost in his twisted psychology and romanticizing the elements that made him a devil on earth, much like they did in 1998 with "Cruelty And The Beast," in which they narrated the life and crimes, now part of popular legend, of Countess Erszebeth Bathory... for more information, I still recommend you read the Wikipedia page dedicated to Gilles De Rais...
