@muito: Carla Bley was a beautiful woman back then, but now she's approaching 72! It's true that charm knows no age, but...

"Quiet" is fantastic, it seems to me that in "Time On My Hands" as well as in the subsequent "Meant To Be," Scofield takes a few more risks.

An intriguing lady, and a great review.

Great observation. I'm caught off guard.

@Adder: it was an impromptu thing, born by chance. Next time, we’ll involve you too, I promise. @dolphy: unfortunately no, although I would prefer to play the bass. @emanuele: I was only away for a few days, and did you see that there's another review of mine on the home page? @Everyone else: THANK YOU.
John Scofield En Route
Voto:
Beautiful review, it was very interesting to see the different and/or common ways we approached related topics. Next time we should do it on the same album, it will be even more fun! As for "En Route", here Scofield is truly unstoppable, his solos are super gritty and seem never to end... "immediate and enjoyable listening experience but devoid of superficiality," OK.
Steve Swallow Home

"Understatement," "essence," "elegantissimo," "very refined sounds," these words you've used about Swallow I find very fitting. @emme: I also liked those columns in the Marvel comics. I remember the classic question: "Will we ever see the face of Doctor Doom?" And the equally classic answer: "No, because his face is so disfigured that you might suffer trauma if you saw it." Different times... Anyway, I preferred The Thing: Hulk has always given me a bit of a villain vibe.

Thank you, Mr. Petty! ;-)

Home sweet home! Good evening everyone and thank you for the comments. @muito: do you know about psychology? I like the Jungian analysis, although I prefer to say that if Jaco is the sun, then Steve is the moon. @Conte: the ineffable trio Giuffre-Bley-Swallow reunited in the eighties and called themselves "The Life of Trio," split into two CDs "Saturday" and "Sunday," which are very beautiful. I don't have "Hotel Hello," but I'll see if I can get it...

Well, a bit brief, but the fact that you referred to a thirty-eight-year-old as "girl" can only make me happy... There's hope for everyone! ;-)
