A petty bourgeois doesn’t have the guts to spend years as a war correspondent, hide under a pile of corpses, remove her burka while interviewing Khomeini, fiercely fight against cancer, take positions that go against the common thought. Dear hidden supremo, I greatly appreciated your admonition, which I will use for constructive purposes. However, I must contradict you on one point: those who consider Oriana Fallaci to be racist and xenophobic are those who:
1) Have never read any of her works (Un uomo - Lettera a un bambino mai nato - niente e così sia - Penelope alla guerra - Insciallah) or at best have merely skimmed through the last trilogy, and even a donkey knows that often an artist should not be judged solely on the basis of their last works.
2) Have lost their mind.
