A fundamental book for Kraut, Cope's work is a passionately written piece that I've probably reread about five times, and I still feel like picking it up again. Even though it might have a rather "restricted" view of the music from that period, largely reflecting his own tastes and selecting only a portion of the German rock of the time (not mentioning bands like Embryo, for instance, or exclusively praising the early period of Tangerine Dream, following his preferences, understandably), it does offer impeccable historical insights. We need more writers of his caliber who spread their true musical passion. However, there's one small note: as soon as I read that he detested Genesis and Dark Side, I was almost ready to burn the book; it took me a while to continue reading.

Listened to, an album that slightly diverges from the previous ones, but is successful and highly enjoyable, even though I prefer the two earlier ones "Trouble In Dreams" and "Destroyer's Rubies," two examples of Dan Bejar's genius, who already made a name for himself with the New Pornographers and the splendid "Twin Cinema." I was rereading the review, and I must say you perfectly captured the personalities of the members, and you also mentioned some of the records I appreciated the most this year; I can only include such writing among my favorites.

It’s really true, Albini looks like any awkward fan in between two supposed members of a phantom band in the picture. Huge Big Black, Rapeman, and Shellac, along with all his work as a producer.
