beautiful review, I just finished reading the book, and I must say that it reveals details that are not in the film. For example, in the film, Bowman is in the hotel room, but in reality, in the book, he travels through a series of "worlds" scattered across the universe, including a sort of intergalactic "station" from which starships of millions of civilizations depart for the galaxies. Meanwhile, in the early part, it describes in great detail the mental transformation of the apes when they come into contact with the monolith and how the monolith itself influences their subconscious, making them aggressive and instilling primitive ideas in their minds, such as the use of tools and the transition from a vegetarian state to an omnivorous one. Anyway, I won't reveal other juicy passages, but I highly recommend reading it. Now I can't wait to get my hands on the sequels: 2010: Odyssey Two, 2061: Odyssey Three, and 3001: The Final Odyssey.
