Sixth full-length this 'Terrorize Sodomize Brutalize' for one of the most influential and visceral Swedish formations in the death metal (with a touch of black) world scene, returning to the shelves three years after the excellent 'Primal Massacre' with this new chapter of absolute violence. After all, from Vomitory, one cannot expect anything but uncompromising violence, even if this time the compositions of our band seem to have implemented a bit more variety in their destructive fury, opting in some cases in favor of mid-tempos instead of explosive bursts, and also inserting some particular solo additions.

The structures of the tracks are as usual designed to knock your teeth out at first listen, with absurdly ferocious pieces that will have no trouble sticking in your head, always faithful to the classic trademark of the band straddling between the American and Swedish death scenes with that hinted thrashy flavor to season everything. So, as usual, mind-blowing assaults, as in the destructive 'Scavenging The Slaughtered' (with some riffs that even smell of Middle Eastern...), 'Cremation Ceremony' and in the title track 'Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize', but also rather groovy moments can be found in tracks like 'The Burning Black', 'Defiled And Inferior', the excellent 'March Into Oblivion' or 'Eternal Trail Of Corpses' for example, which somewhat set aside the classic flurries typical of our band to give us the opportunity to indulge in some healthy headbanging riding massive mid-tempos. Really reduced to a minimum will be the drops in tension noticeable in this album: the most significant perhaps manifests during 'Whispers From The Dead', the most marked and solid mid-tempo of the album that breaks more than usual the general violent mood creating a sort of discontinuity in the lineup, and that perhaps will make someone want to skip to the next track. Nothing to complain about concerning the technical performance of our band and the production of the album, both at decidedly high levels, but after all, this was to be expected as well.

This 'Terrorize Brutalize Sodomize' is therefore undoubtedly another nice bloody little jewel of pure violence that adds to the virulent discography of Vomitory, and that does nothing but confirm the excellent state of health of our Swedes. Recommended (even if it’s not a masterpiece of the genre).
