Sniff, sniff...I sense a whiff of harsh critiques...

He, he, he... anyway, to get a little serious, on the topic of "desert," I recommend to all cinephiles two feature films by Raymond Depardon: "La Captive du Désert" (with Sandrine Bonnaire) and "Un Homme Sans l'Occident" (French films, Poletti ; ). These works are precisely where the desert becomes a true (and almost unique) filmic material, and, as a good documentarian, Depardon takes on Flaherty's theories: all the scenes are shot with a fixed camera, except that in this case, despite the artificiality of the narrative intertwining, the choice is wisely made to underline the impossibility of the "Western" eye and mind to truly understand the "depth" of being an integral and integrated part of such a habitat. Two little works that, in my opinion, pale in comparison with their unsettling rigor to the grandiose intentions of a "African" Herzog (let's say that of "Fata Morgana" and "Wodaabe - Die Hirten der Sonne").

Sure, let's rediscover this little-known film that cost very little, was practically seen by no one, and even the brilliant and courageous jurors of the Academy snubbed... If we want to reevaluate a great blockbuster, why not also turn our attention to Abel Gance?! (Let's make any "Napoléon"... mmmh, well, it’s missing the desert because it doesn't get to the Egyptian Campaign ;).
Liliana Cavani Il Portiere Di Notte

Yes, but it's neither Bogare nor Bogarte, but Bogarde (or, if you don't like stage names, Derek Van den Bogaerde). Cavani still bores me; one Visconti is enough to be the aesthete of the bird.

The cover looks like a mix between the posters of "Faster, pussicat! Kill! Kill!" and "Quel gran pezzo dell'Ubalda tutta nuda e tutta calda."

Brevity is the soul of...who knows! Anyway, I got really pissed off yesterday and now I won't persist...diabolically (contrary to my nickname). Probably they posted these reviews all at once and now they edit them with a certain delay (but not too much). However, if he is really 15 years old, we can forgive him (considering that this monomaniacal focus on East Asian cinema is somewhat concerning at such a "tender age"). Personally, the more elliptical and quietly obsessive Tsukamoto is the one I prefer too.

Beautiful, beautiful. I agree completely. But... tell the truth, you did it on purpose, you mention Du Mont in a work by Dupont (not neuf), and in both cases they're their worst films (not to say completely wrong)... who knows if Supersoul, who has a crush on road movies, would be able to find something good even in "29 Palms" (Golubeva isn't so b-beautiful after all)...

Mmmmmh,...15 years old, huh, Dull...well, I’ll take your word for it, if nothing else for the early good taste.
