Mmmmmh, these have uplifted my pop-loving soul at first listen... so, something wasn't quite right... and indeed... the game of revivals, although elegant, got a bit tiring after a month... in short, maybe their songs just lack a deep soul... or maybe it's my critical side that has prevailed in the long run... but I'm a good sport, come on (Christmas is over ; ).
Guns N'Roses Unplugged (Disc 1)

After the Beijing Olympics... and it will be a posthumous album, as the Chinese government has already kidnapped Axl Rose with the intention of using him as a repellent fuel ("I'm a cold heartbreaker fit ta burn!" right?!) for the torch (and Slash is doing everything he can to secure the title of the last torchbearer!). The aim is obviously to promote the Games with the news of the elimination of the last great (?!! and, more properly, useless) despot of capitalist-imperialist society...

I miss it and... how can I say... the reception is not bad at all, but... considering "Citrus" (which is definitely predictable, although catchy, as an album)... I really don't understand how this could sound... I mean, given the references you mention, it really seems capable of making "Cibo Matto" pale in terms of eclecticism, even though it has nothing to do with styles!!!

Nice little mouse, only instead of Nintendo-style sounds they have cheesy techno/trance synths like "Snap" - "Datura" - "Usura" and other tacky disco nonsense from the early '90s.

Bah, for me these are neither meat nor fish... however, after the big lunches and the suppositories after "Grandes Bouffes" these days, I'm not so sure that this is necessarily a bad thing...; )

Moreover, my dear, these Crowbar cannot be given less than a 4 in the review phase... mattugguarda, now I have to exaggerate... and counterbalance!

Criticized a lot here... I considered it a good album for chilling back in the day... you know, stuff for a Saturday night car ride... I expected it would last half a summer and then, goodbye... instead, it’s been six months and it's still doing the rounds in cars over the weekends... I saw them at Pukkelpop, and I can confirm that live they break more than any serious post-core band I’ve ever come across. They might be for messing around, but they really know how to do it well: 3.5 without hesitation! (P.S.: indeed, the version of "Sorry You're not a Winner" without synths is pretty awful).

Isis In The Absent Of Truth
Voto:
The truth may be lacking (or dented and painful), but the magnificent "POPettarity" of the crescendo in "Garden of Light" is enough to silence any criticism; they have become UNIVERSAL, and there is nothing that (fortunately) we early fans can do to stop them, IMMENSE!
