It's just meteoropathy; these sudden downpours give him troubles with the Metal plate they implanted when he was young in the lower temporal arch, and creaks in his pinned knee... But with the summer heat, it all passes again, don't worry!

But why does the foam have to erupt like Vesuvius? Santorini-like or, even better, Stromboli-like, right?

Bah, it’s not that by using (but maybe crapping) feedback and distortions you automatically become an embodiment of the worst youth (even if born old), huh?! Anyway, even the ...Trail of Dead from their early days have nothing to do with Branca's offspring, and thank goodness for that.

Seen in Bologna on the 9th and, what can I say??!! I think I liked them for completely opposite reasons. Perfect management of their sound even when off-key (Jason could barely see and on the adrenaline-pumping "Caterwaul" he seemed truly intent on stage diving, only we were just a few people below... and we would have moved aside without too much fuss if tour manager Boteriana hadn’t managed to bring him back to his senses before making his Icarus leap... what a shame ;). Anyway, strangely, they didn't miss a beat with a sound that didn’t lose any of its dynamic overlays... and the vocals were audible even above the guitar barrage. Negative points: the show was too short (14 total tracks), the much-criticized "So Divided" completely snubbed from the setlist, and a free-noisy finale that is just a drag: "Claire de Lune," "Totally Natural," "Mistakes & Regrets," and "Perfect Teenhood" in succession are already sufficiently deconstructed pieces, extending them further, exhaustively, with guitar scraps and debris means "ruining them," so much so that the few of us in the front rows quickly end up at the bar while the less "cultured" and drowsy audience behind us seems to wake up only at the sight of the "alternative" poses that the ...Trail of Dead assume at the end. Another note considering the duration: having the supporting band play for almost an hour may also be a sign of fairness, but if the aforementioned group, although capable, proposes the now-omnipresent psychedelic/freak mélange, this time "Jefferson Airplane" meets "The Mamas and the Papas," then it’s better to rightly recover "So Divided."

Scandalous Palme d'Or at Cannes... and it's not just my opinion. In the presence of "Offret" (in competition that same year), a film like this can only rightly fade away.

A university classmate of mine wrote a thesis (for "theories and techniques of radio-television language," I believe) about the endings of Japanese anime from the mid-sixties to the late eighties, focusing on why those serialized ones (with episode outlines and increasingly self-contained stories) ended in over 75% of cases with a sort of "panorama" of a sunset. I think among the titles analyzed was also "Dasshu! Mashin Hayabusa." However, I don’t remember the conclusions he reached... (pips??!! ; ).

Of course, it’s rather easy for them to release an album while appearing to have just gone through an astounding evolutionary process. I’ve only listened to it about 3 or 4 times; I’ll revisit it in a few days/weeks/months, once assimilation has hopefully occurred. Anyway, at the moment I can assert that it definitely causes much less stomach heaviness and flatulence than its predecessors did, which isn’t necessarily a good sign ;)

No, no, I was referring to certain comments that preceded mine, Master Sfascia, certainly not to your "reportage" from Campo Eliso (i.e.: transposed via "Cielo", or so I suppose ;).
