Think about it, I really didn't know it had been so hyped up (especially since in recent months, the electronic scene seems to have been entirely occupied by the new releases from the heavyweight dubstep derivations: Scuba, Ikonika, and Flying Lotus). The album definitely deserves it... and so do you (since seeing the "Giuovine Krukko" in HP here was not something I could have contemplated). Have you listened to the latest Rafael Anton Irisarri under the name The Sight Below ("It All Falls Apart")??! It's more ambient/kraut and less glitch/microsounds, but due to elective affinities and a communion of empathetic intents, it should still be captivating (and if I'm not mistaken, the guys at OndaRock have embraced it and then spread it well ;)

Hey GEB, in what sense then? "Kids" is part of the trio of annoying singles from "Oracolare Spettacolare," in fact, it’s probably their most overused track in the Dj-Set of Italian rock clubs.

Damn... I arrived late, anyway: great ReeviZion for a top-notch brain-melting Disco (4.5).

Ah, the only beautiful-cute single they got right in the previous album, for me, is the funky "Electric Feel."

I don't know, the "cartoonish" organ sounds in certain tracks make me feel like I'm having an ice cream cone with a kiss (with lots of peanuts inside), i.e.: "Song for Dan Tracey" and "Brian Eno" (devoid of any ominous content that, paradoxically, informs the anything but rowdy "Lady Dada's Night"). They work well when kept at a safe distance: either very short (within reach of "Moms & Dads") like in "Someone's Missing," or reasonably long, to dilute the thorny and gut-wrenching twists, as in "Siberian Breaks."

Lele (from New Age) told me about a month ago that he was working to bring Dillinger Esc. Plan to play there, but for now, everything is still silent. It would certainly be a well-deserved hit after years of "lean cows" or at best "well-fed fossils"... Let's cross our fingers ; ).

What’s this panegyric about "Jerusalem"?! I’ve always felt like I was laughing behind its back because I took it and everyone kept saying it was nothing more than the sanitized and castrated version of "Dopesmoker". Fortunately!!! "Jerusalem" already bored me enough, just imagine if I had to deal with over 60 minutes of heavy psych monolithic wankery. Never completely convinced, and I hardly believe the rumors about Sleep's breakup being due to record label issues; looking ahead, it’s quite clear that Pike didn’t really care much about the sound deconstruction obsessions that Cisneros and Hakius further championed on their own (with such totalizing tenacity from Al that even the good Chris, at some point, said "Du palleee! And now, Baaastaa!!").

Hey, not even my vote matters... Were the old white-haired guys revoked access to preferences??!!!

Remedy to the trick of 'Panic (which, although well-intentioned, does not affect the average with the second vote). I've already expressed my opinion on the album in question, and a week later, I must admit that the desire to delve deeper hasn't yet come (sticking to the initial 3/4 listens... Well, I really have aged ; ). Bienvenudo.

Mmmmmh, listened to a few times at the moment, certainly at first glance it leaves me quite baffled: it certainly doesn't have the drops in performance of "SNW" but neither those 2/3 tracks that lift the "forward" momentum (damn, there's not a single sharp guitar riff, just distorted power chords and liquid arpeggios), all the songs follow the same 2 d.u.e. patterns (tight yet not too tight, and melodic explosion, or slow and sinuous with a crescendo, but not overly invasive; in short, zero adrenaline-fueled stop & go or sudden key changes). They can afford to give style lessons to all today's "scEMO" sound bands even recording farts and burps from a porta-potty, but WHY come out TODAY (2010!!!) with a work that seems like an "EMOCORE" BREVIARY???!!!!
