Congratulations on your love for this work! The Andante is among the absolute peaks of all music, and it truly touches the deepest chords. In the exposition of the theme, there are octave jumps (with the same note being repeated) downwards, which magnificently convey a sense of transience and abandonment! Another piece of music that possesses the same "supernatural" power is the second movement of Beethoven's seventh symphony; if you don't know it, get it immediately ;-) To wrap up, I highly recommend the performance by Géza Anda, the best one I know, and by the way, the one featured in the film "Elvira Madigan."
