So, microbe: I wrote in Italian, it seems, while you daydream about "fumelli"; the page was ruined by the first two comments, in one of which YOU play the little professor as Supersoul rightly pointed out (but what are you doing, acting all high and mighty, giving this record a 4 “rounded up” as if it's nothing, trash that appreciates the Motley Crue). I reiterate that Miles doesn’t just laugh, but he laughs (actually, he gets annoyed) only towards those who don’t understand his music. If you say that, you probably don’t know Miles's objectivity about his own music, his great AWARENESS of having made great music or even some mediocre stuff. For Miles, doo-bop wasn't coming out well. Why villain? I agree with him. However, Kosmo, if you want, doo-bop is a masterpiece. It's not incomplete, formulaic, it doesn't have worn-out backgrounds, and the samples used are not banal at all. Furthermore, if you believe it, Easy Mo Bee is a great artist, and he doesn’t just throw everything together.

Effepuntato, Miles only laughs at that microbe. And he is grateful to those who can understand, appreciate, and defend his true masterpieces. Among other things, in his autobiography, he also keeps emphasizing how this quintet is the absolute pinnacle of his career. I believe that Miles Davis's opinion about his own music is worth much more than that of a microbe who ranks Mötley Crüe as the 4th best artists of all time.

Shut up, microbe, who placed Motley Crue 4th on the list of the greatest artists of all time, who defines this record as "more than sufficient," who deems the best quintet in history "too fussy," and who prefers that abortion of doo-bop to Sorcerer.

Summary: core-a-core really doesn’t understand A DAMN THING about music. Holdsworth isn’t ready for this quintet yet. Karimbambeta becomes my adopted brother. Supersoul becomes my adopted brother.

Excellent review!! Here Coltrane was truly in the midst of his explosion of "sheets of sound" (an expression that critics would invariably bring up when discussing Trane, often inappropriately), you can feel that compared to the others he is "pushing" a bit harder. What you say about Cobb is true, he's seriously underrated. He swings beautifully, but Frankie Dunlop and Mel Lewis are also great swingers who deserve more recognition... Perhaps the only one in the bunch who is out of context is Bill Evans; Wynton Kelly would have been perfect here!
Fritz Lang Il Grande Caldo

Great film by master Lang!
Akira Kurosawa Vivere

Heartbreaking masterpiece. Perhaps the pinnacle of Kurosawa!
Ingmar Bergman L'uovo del Serpente

One of the few films by Bergman that I haven't seen, perhaps discouraged by the unanimous dissent...
