And why is it that one gives a 4 to the review and another a 5? May the night bring advice...

Here’s Alfredo highlighting the most important point about the failure of your thesis... "when there's a series of five, you either don’t vote or you give a five. That's not a sign of Bulgaria, but of respect towards the opinions of others." So according to you, in order to respect others' opinions, you must first NOT respect your own opinions. This is called CONFORMISM, and it's not respect; it's taking the piss out of yourself and others, nullifying your own personality and ideas. But can you imagine how dull it would be if we all thought differently but all said the same thing? No one would gain anything from it; it would be a colossal waste of time. Question: if an album you consider a masterpiece received about twenty 3s, would you also give it a 3 just to avoid looking like a novice? Is that how you think? Anyway, I’m off to the frappe.

Regarding your letter A) evidently you misunderstood... I never made public announcements of "disappearance" from the site, let alone with the derogatory tones you attribute to me. I had only expressed my disappointment towards a part of the users who, instead of minding THEIR own business, came to heavily criticize (even insult without knowing me or the situation) me and to invade a conversation that was developing between me and another user with whom I was close enough to talk about my personal matters. I don't remember if you were among these, it's likely I think. Therefore, I longed for smart people, music lovers, a Grasshopper, a Hal, a Happypippo, an Odradek to INTERACT with, rather than the mediocrity that was rampant at that time, and I stated so. From here to making proclamations is a far cry, and anyway, if occasionally a review surfaces that actually interests me (like this one, for example), am I not free to come and comment because you have misconstrued my words and think I have contradicted myself?? And why should I even care? I'm going to eat some frappe.

But, excuse me, it doesn't seem to me that it's written anywhere that one must necessarily conform to the general enthusiasm. It's part of the "rules of the game," and Supersoul has already responded. I didn't want to be a party pooper, nor did my 4 intend in any way to showcase my superiority over those who voted 5, as you fantasize. There's a difference between time-wasters who give 1 without justification (as has often happened with my reviews, and I didn't make a fuss about it) and those who do it out of spite; but the reviewer, the one directly involved, with his civil and intelligent response, has shown that he clearly understood my good faith. In short, it seems to me like a pointless controversy, honestly!

soulman, believe me, I didn’t want to ruin anyone's average, nor would I have ever imagined that this mattered to you. I simply exercised my right to pluralism without being swayed by the string (which I find unjustified) of five. I quite like your review. But I’m not crazy about the somewhat over-the-top tone of "Hey brother!!", and the various epithets that the reader has to endure (even if you're not addressing the reader, it's still unpleasant). That’s all. If you want, next time I won’t vote, in fact, I won’t read.

Thumbs up Doc! I don't know this one, but I love Rypdal's "Lux Aeterna," truly a major work!

Two notes: 1) there were already a ton of them; 2) the poetic attempts were poorly executed. Two for the effort... everything has already been said about this album.
