Among the highest achievements of Cinema.

Masterpiece. Tarkovsky is one of the greatest of all time... Ivan's Childhood, Andrei Rublev, Solaris, The Mirror, Stalker, Nostalghia, The Sacrifice... a host of masterpieces. Perhaps my favorite is Stalker.

The piano was not considered unavoidable... there are numerous examples prior to this record! Several passages sound off to me... Can meter have dark corners? What do you mean? Ray Brown is even "phenomenal" while poor Shelly Manne is... "clean"? Incredible timbral orthodoxy? "Passing" effectiveness? Inspiration for jazz rock?

I mostly share Primiballi's view on the album. Beautiful "sounds," to be sure, very enjoyable to listen to, but these were (were?) two geniuses, and something so conventional from them after so many years of not playing together seems more like a missed opportunity than an artistic success! Then again, as I mentioned in the other review, Body and Soul and Goodbye are really beautiful, despite their predictability.

Great recommendation and welcome to the site!! I don't know this one, but I highly recommend, in addition to the ones already mentioned, "Conference..." and "Point Of View", the double live "Extended Play", beautiful!
