Spider is beautiful, I agree with Odra. The hardest role to portray was that of the father, perhaps, as he had to appear simultaneously a monster from Spider's point of view, but at the same time "normal" (as he actually was) in the eyes of the audience. Miranda Richardson gives a masterful performance with her two antithetical roles (caring mother and a vulgar whore), and Ralph Fiennes is truly superb in never making the poor protagonist's constant tics and stammering seem caricatural or exaggerated.

Of course, Aura is Rikardo. Just one post and coincidentally in defense of the indefensible jerk. Anyway, I’m also a nutritionist...

The most beautiful films visually, in my opinion, are those of Ingmar Bergman. Pure, clear, icy images, with those Nordic faces studied up close... wonderful! That said, RIKARDO, keep being a jerk with Melissa and then we'll see... by the way, it's pointless to post shirtless photos if you don't have at least a decent body, you little dumpling! You're pretty out of shape, cut down on carbs and bread, and increase legumes, fruits, vegetables, and proteins... three months like this and then you can post a decent photo. In the meantime, please take that one down. Melissa, where did you see muscles on him? And above all, what do you have against muscles? Poor Riace Bronzes!

psycho on Aliens (chapter 2) I shared my thoughts in post 55. I find the third chapter sufficient, even though the total lack of weapons and the fact that there is only one alien excludes a myriad of possibilities in the development of the story. I like the idea of making the alien similar to the dog from which it is generated. Yes, because apparently (but no film explains how) these aliens take part of the genetics of the host organisms; in fact, the aliens in the first two chapters were more anthropomorphic, even in upright posture, compared to the more "four-legged" behavior of the one in the third chapter, which is also more "instinctual" in its actions, sniffing quite a bit. The fourth chapter could have been awesome, but it turned out to be a mess.

Ok Odra, but at this point, just to put the discussion to rest, I’d be curious to know who you would replace in the top ten above (otherwise it’s 11 ;-) )!!

Pampar, if I have to name ten, those are the ones... but in Serie A, besides the big names you mentioned, there are at least another twenty: Django, Art (Tatum & Blakey), Lennie, Ornette, Cannonball, Charlie Christian, Dexter, Oscar, Herbie (Hancock & Nichols), Joe Henderson, Wayne, Andrew, Albert, Anthony (Braxton & Williams), Keith, Paul, Eric, Michel, Brad. How beautiful are lists... maybe we can make Odra vomit ;-) Returning to Mobley and Clark, I would respectively recommend: "Soul Station" and "Sonny Clark Trio."

Pampar, I wasn't being ungenerous! I speak of them as "well-known indeed," and "all good improvisers with their own sound"... and I didn't place them in Serie C, but in B (and among the top ones)! However, as you yourself say, they're certainly not the greats (Serie A) like Louis, Jelly, Duke, Monk, Bird, Miles, Mingus, Sonny, John, and Bill (for me, the Ten Great Dragons of Jazz)! That's all... P.S.: let's go with "creative," but calling them "original" just won't do!! An Herbie Nichols was original, a Sam Rivers, a Roland Kirk... not a Hank Mobley (who is nonetheless valid!). Thanks, Odra!!
