Anyway, "Kathy's Waltz" starts in 4/4, then becomes a fast 3/4. The rhythmic displacement is created by the bass, playing (loudly) only a few notes, which makes it seem like it’s actually a slow 4/4 divided into triplets, which, by the way, are played by Morello in emiola (polymetry 3 over 4). Listening to the piece, one would not believe that all these rhythmic complexities lie behind it...
