Johann Sebastian Bach - Glenn Gould Variazioni Goldberg (1981)
Voto:
Here I am! Thanks to everyone, pretty and ugly. Gustavo, I have an ice pack if you want ;-) Pulp, nice to see you again! Paloz, those are the notes, but believe me, the two versions by Gould are a different story, try to listen to them if you can. Jazzprog, thank you and welcome! Jake, it's not pride to comment on the work of a great (which you are definitely capable of!)... do you only do this with Bach? Watch out, or then Mozart, Beethoven, Davis, Coltrane, Zappa, etc. might get offended ;-) Barbanera, thanks for getting rid of Malgioglio!!! Honestly, both versions are masterpieces; it’s worth having and listening to both. Holdsworth, saboteur ;-) Hi Ole! Hi Bonny, if you feel like it, still write it! You’re right about the date, but referring to the "old" version, I wrote that it was PUBLISHED in '56. I also remember that the recording is from '55. Regarding the live versions you mentioned, I know of their existence, but I've never listened to them; how are they? It's well known that Glenn wasn't very fond of concert halls...

I only know it by name, alas... very balanced review, as Jake rightly notes.

...look, he’s eating it!...ask me "what is he doing?"....but it's clear: HE'S SUCKING ITAAAAAAAAAA (for me, this record would be a strong 4, not a 5 anyway!)

I had mentioned those with whom I had the most exchanges so far, but I fully agree with what you say, and in my opinion, young Dolphy, still relatively "new" to the deb, promises a lot, in fact he is already delivering ;-) That flinstone is quite to blame for Odra's departure, remember the mess regarding your review of David Darling? And it was flinstone who had Happypippo banned, who reacted excessively to his provocations. He is the one I miss the most, even though we were at each other's throats at first. I even went to see him in Venice during Carnival...he's a great guy, it's a shame you didn't meet him. Oh, anyway, I've rolled up my sleeves, I've already sent another review, this time on Ella Fitzgerald ;-)

In fact, Vaghissimo Ritratto was pointed out to me and linked by the good Odra, whom I've spoken to regarding his disappearance, and from his reply, I fear it's unequivocal that he has unfortunately left us... and it's been quite a while since I've seen Hal around, let's hope for the best! Here, the best are leaving, damn it, and it’s due to the gradual cultural decline of the site. I must confess that I stay for a few, including definitely you, Muffin, the buddy Uxo, and the very polite, respectful, and humble OleEinar. I’ve also had excellent exchanges of ideas with Ajeje...

Thank you, dear, and nice to meet you! What are your favorites by Ornette? I'm asking because I'm curious to know which of his albums you would give a 5 (I'm serious, I'm not being controversial, okay?)

Whatever you say, but long live the Pope, fuck it!

Never heard him in a solo project, but always as a sideman, especially with Dave Weckl. What can I say, great musician, but so far I've only heard him play crap music (same flaw as Weckl). I don't exclude that he may have done some decent things on his own, but the premises are lacking for my possibly too demanding taste... in short, where's the Art?

Given his cachet, I would say that prezzomolo suited him well ;-) To think that such softness of form has been the privilege of a bothersome effeminate brat, such as Justin Timberlake. I hate waste, but at the same time, it disturbs and excites me. The blooming fertility in the hands of a sterile non-virility, whether it be a fresh-faced kid or a flabby fifty-something man sunk into the seat of his SUV, drooling at the mouth, with a slimy, irritating expression during the succulent suckle of his little cock that is half the size of mine. I love to pinch these spoiled and/or wasted types and make them feel the difference! Pairings must be aesthetic, well-matched; otherwise, it's like a priceless vintage guitar in the hands of Ligabue... the film reaches sufficiency, the review is good. Swank is totally unsuitable for the role of femme fatale.
