John Coltrane The John Coltrane Quartet Plays
Voto:
To me, it seems more trivial (and easier) to fill gaps and throw in a literary attempt (which can even succeed, as in this case, but has nothing to do with the music in question) rather than to speak with passion and attention to detail about music and artists that one knows very well and loves. And above all, it is of no use to anyone who wants to know something more about the artist or the album!

Great review for a great live (which would be a 4.5). No poorly written poetry or irrelevant personal stories. In short, how a review should be!! :-D

I'll tell Bertoldo: "As written, I like it, but the review is garbage!!". I have to rate the review. And the record is nice, of course. But it doesn't compare to Coltrane's masterpieces...
Sonny Rollins And Coleman Hawkins Sonny Meets Hawk!
Voto:
The album is an absolute masterpiece. I find the writing to be a wasted opportunity. There were so many things that could have been said about the record, about the musicians in question, about certain key passages; and instead... the "literary attempt" just didn't appeal to me, don't take it personally!
The Miles Davis/Tadd Dameron Quintet In Paris Festival International DeJazz, May 1949
Voto:
The Parisian success and love for Juliette proved fatal for Miles, who returned to his homeland in the "same old shit" and started using again...four years of hell that physically and artistically annihilated him. Who knows how much those four years could have meant...other revolutions in music? We'll never know, but it turned out well this way.

What a pleasure to see the first review of Don Cherry on Debaser!! A tremendously generous and valuable artist, and this is a great record, perhaps not a full 5, but a milestone of world music worthy of the name.
Michael Mann L'Ultimo Dei Mohicani

Entertainment of good quality, beautiful soundtrack, wonderful landscapes. And Madeleine Stowe, stunning.

Absolutely brilliant the piece that accompanies Ametrano (or Amitrano?)...
