My CD is from 2004, and it says it was transferred from analog... and it sounds amazing, including the bass :-) Thanks again and compliments for the amount of technical information you master with ease... hi Cugi'!!

Thank you for the comments and the links! However, to be honest, I don't agree regarding the audio quality, which on my setup is clear and very pleasant... especially in comparison to the old studio version, the "official" one... by the way, the recording is analog, then transferred to digital... at least that's what it says in the album notes!

Not to mention how much HE has influenced others, by the dozens.

That he was an assimilative genius rather than a "creative" genius is beyond dispute. But genius was genius. And he brought to the fullest expression, making them blossom, the best things he perceived in the air. It's not a drawback. After all, he would just be a mediocre despot to hear you speak... if that were the case, he wouldn't have earned the respect and consideration of all his fellow musicians, younger, peers, and older than him, over the decades.

It is beyond doubt that Miles drew inspiration from the young talents around him... but to say that he didn’t have his own ideas is a stretch! And those young talents, how they played under his iron fist, and with what inspiration... playing with Miles Davis!! Just watch the videos of the quintet's concerts: with a single glance, he would zap them at the first "mess-up", and they would immediately fall back into "line", which were nothing more than the musical directions that Miles wanted in HIS music, that is, HIS ideas about music.
