The film speaks about the vote, and regarding the review, I think that if the author were to forgo some overly lofty passages, it would be quite agreeable.

@47: Thank you! @DjMush: oh come on, monotone? I wouldn't say so, it's just a matter of taste... @SadEyed: yeah, everything’s very British ;-)
@Ole: don’t underestimate electronic music, you might find some pleasant surprises.

Gary Kemp, guitarist, I checked a bit of sources (official site, unofficial Italian site, Italian and English wiki) and they all list him as the founder and author of music and lyrics...

"The Spands, of which the protagonist of the review was the undisputed and absolute leader" As far as I know, most of the songs were written by one of the two Kemps (whose name I can't recall now), but I could be mistaken, and you might attribute a different meaning to the word leader than I do.

You have a flaw, namely that you tend to consider as expressionless what, in essence, doesn't appeal to you. From this perspective, you're not very empathetic, but I repeat, it's not an accusation because, in music, as in art in general, a lot depends on individual sensitivities. Therefore, I'm not here to reiterate discussions that, I believe, you remember we had some time ago. As for the more or less cerebral aspect, I can agree, but here too, you often get into comparisons (like the one you make in this review... Editors/DT) that leave me puzzled and make me think that, in the end, you are more "kind" to certain bands that you like for some reason (like the 4 you gave to Oasis a few days ago, which I also agree with) and stricter with others when originality is clearly equal (which is something you hold dear). From my point of view, the songs offered by this group are not glossy at all; they are produced by God (which is part of the criteria, in my opinion, for judging an album). I don’t even agree that they are stereotyped because, while not being overly original, they have an emotional touch (and I’ll preempt you—the emotional aspect should always be considered, and I know you disagree, but here too, you can often be more lenient with those you like better). I honestly ask of an album to move me, and whether it is more or less derivative matters little to me. For me, this is both moving and derivative (of a genre that I happen to like regardless). I understand that you have other criteria, but all this accusatory fervor toward a group that, in my opinion, is honest, should be directed elsewhere. No polemic, ciao!
P.S.: Message for those who need to know, I just responded to the good Lux, now I'm out!

I was talking about your way of seeing things, which is generally very close to that of the cited sources (close, not copied, there’s a difference), you can’t deny that you generally associate the term trivial with seemingly simple things because you do it often; it’s not a criticism but a consideration because I still respect your position. As for the sole revival, I absolutely disagree; in this album, despite the many derivative hints, there’s a lot of personality, that’s all, and without polemic. P.S.: the other one wasn’t Mien but the good Blackdog because I hoped he would catch on and get a little upset, but nothing, what a shame ;-)
