OBVIOUSLY, ITALIAN SINGERS DON’T SUCCEED ABROAD BECAUSE OF THE LANGUAGE, WHICH IS CERTAINLY LESS SPOKEN THAN ENGLISH...AND THEREFORE THEY ARE WORTH LESS BECAUSE THEY REACH (OBVIOUSLY) FEWER PEOPLE...AH, DAMN, NOW I GET IT ALL. The value is calculated based on the expansiveness of the language and the potential audience...SHIT, THIS IS OPENING MY MIND.

"Guccini is worth shit, unless in Italy"... AH, SO THE VALUE OF AN ARTIST IS MEASURED BY THEIR SUCCESS ABROAD... I MEAN "ABROAD" AND "ITALY" ARE TWO DIFFERENT COEFFICIENTS, THE VALUE IS SEEN FROM THE NATION... OK So FERRO, RAMAZZOTTI AND PAUSINI ARE BETTER THAN DE ANDRÉ, GUCCINI, DE GREGORI, GABER, FOSSATI, BATTIATO... ETC BECAUSE THEY HAVE SUCCESS ABROAD... JUST LIKE HILARY DUFF (HOW THE HELL IS IT WRITTEN), BREATNY AND PEOPLE LIKE THAT... OK NOW WE UNDERSTAND HOW IT WORKS... THANK YOU!!

already outdated... but is music a trend? ... "These shoes are old, buy the new model" ... come on.... "we're ignorant, that's why certain phenomena exist in Italy" ... speak for yourself... with the nonsense you say... it's clear you're ignorant... negative phenomena are Guccini and Co.? and not Ferro, Meneguzzi, D'Alessio and the like???... GO LIVE IN AMERICA SINCE EVERYTHING IN ITALY IS DISGUSTING, WE'RE ALL IGNORANT, WE LISTEN TO GUCCINI, FOSSATI, BATTIATO, THAT KIND OF PEOPLE.... You say not to bring politics into it when the first thing you do is take a stance, YOU’RE PARTISAN, LABELLED, BIGOTED, YOU’RE THE ONE WITH PROSCIUTTO IN YOUR EYES WHO STILL BELIEVES IN THE "AMERICAN MYTH," IN THE "BIG APPLE"... OPEN YOUR PERSPECTIVES A BIT... YOU’RE SOMEONE WHO DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO TELL ME YOUR AGE, YOU'RE A DECLARED FAKE... You're always stuck in that damn 1967... 67 this, 65 that, 64 like this, 66 like that... 40 YEARS HAVE PASSED, THE WORLD DIDN'T END IN 70!!! THE AMERICAN MYTH DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE!!! What nonsense from a die-hard fan?? It's you who can't be objective... I REPEAT: GO LIVE IN AMERICA AND AT LEAST STOP CRITICIZING ANYTHING THAT IS VAGUELY ITALIAN!!!

Of course, doing something in Italy that Americans did three years earlier means you’re worth nothing... yes, because we provincial and stupid people, with this shitty language that is no good for pop music... so ignorant, with a constitution that's almost socialist, we should just be quiet and listen to the American Deities, right? When they play, in various sports, Italy vs. U.S.A., do you struggle to decide whether to sing our horrible little march or the Majestic American Anthem... or not? And then you say you get labeled... don’t you see that you’re the one labeling yourself? It seems that everything we’ve produced is just a faint and provincial imitation of the masters from across the ocean. The truth is that after the first album (a work that was obviously youthful, still searching for itself), Guccini matured, built a very personal style, and established himself, along with 2-3 others, as one of the greatest Italian singer-songwriters. Whether you like it or not. Period.

To preface, I am well acquainted with Ungaretti and all of Italian literature, and I can only be astonished by the immense tide of nonsense you say, dear... you quote Guccini’s words saying that for his first album he copied Dylan (again?! We’ve been saying this for three days!) and then you say that the rest of his career "is of little importance"... then you wonder why I laugh in your face? Of little importance, is it? Go tell that to Umberto Eco (a great fan of his… another of little importance) Ezio Raimondi (a great Italianist… another fan… high-class idiot) Dario Fo (Nobel Prize winner, great idiot) Pope Paul VI (who praised him for "Dio è morto," which has nothing to do with Dylan), President Ciampi (who wanted to award him the title of Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic)… or to the idiots who awarded him the (prestigious) Premio Librex Montale, the Targa Ferrè, the Tenco Prize, and the many Targhe… you may not like Guccini, but to claim that his career ā€œis of little importanceā€ and that artistically ā€œhe’s not that greatā€ā€¦ frankly just makes me laugh.

I believe that when it comes to lyrics, Guccio is second to none... for the music, Faber has always put in more effort than the montanaro.
