I don't agree with you, Sentence, about that remix... for me, all in all, it was a well-executed homage (even if not super memorable), and definitely something decent compared to the latest commercial endeavors...

I had heard it before and for me, "Erinys" was one of the albums of 2009. Now that I've received the original with a dedication from Massimo Pupillo, I can only confirm my thesis. The ending of "Ostia" is simply INDESCRIBABLE in how beautiful it is. And the presence of Patton, Buzzo, Favero, and the good Pacho enriches an already beautiful picture. God bless this sort of power trio.

"Today many artists claim to have learned from him." Well, in my opinion, Rino, while not being a genius, laid the foundations from which other singers would draw inspiration, some improving upon those foundations, others leaving them as they were, see Bugo, or Le Luci (But when I think that that today's buffoon J Ax claims to have learned from Gaetano for a piece of junk like "Italiano Medio," I SHUDDER). As for the rest, I have already expressed my views elsewhere regarding Rino. The review is not bad at all.

Objectively speaking, it's a nice review. I've always liked Novoselic, let's see what he's put together in this CD...

In recent years, I've personally discovered that I have a soft spot for puzzles (always on the PSX) like Kurushi, Devil Dice, Kula World (assuming it can be called a puzzle... it's a bit of a crossover with a platformer), Mr. Domino, Mr. Driller, Swing (this one is a bit trickier)... in short, it's not just Bust A Move! :D

I've always said that Bobby Gillespie shines the most when he's more electronic (see "Screamadelica," "XTRMNTR," and I would add "Vanishing Point" and "Evil Heat"). When they lean more towards rock, they're hit or miss: there's "Give Out But Don't Give Up," which is a great album, but there's also "Riot City Blues," which is too much routine and too little substance. And the single "Country Girl" is proof of that...
