Howard Greenhalgh (also visit here) (Gbr): Videoclip of "Black Hole Sun", Soundgarden (U.S.A.) from "Superunknown" (1994)

Have you ever thought about what the apocalypse might be like?

I think about it every day. I roam my city, amidst plastic grimaces and an order that exists only in your fucking head.

"I am a parasite, I latch onto your life, your breath: in the sky, I draw clouds. I never tire.

I go unnoticed, a fleeting being that strikes unexpectedly, in the end, you will not forget me.

In your memory, around your story: I seek illusions, in true labyrinths I never get lost.

On this miserable earth, staying consistent weakens my existence and in the inevitable end, you will remember me."

It will be our own security guiding us by the hand towards the end: in that violent vortex that will take us to zero, nothing we consider certain will remain.

We are our own Evil. There will be no god or fate: we will be the ones to press the switch.

According to the band, the video was entirely conceived by the director: the only thing they insisted on was playing truly while being filmed. The string Cornell wore around his neck was given to him by Shannon Hoon. The "black hole" was digitally created while the characters' faces were distorted using, the then popular, Morphing technique.

01   Black Hole Sun (05:22)

In my eyes
Indisposed
In disguise as no one knows
Hides the face
Lies the snake
The sun in my disgrace
Boiling heat
Summer stench
'Neath the black the sky looks dead
Call my name through the cream
And I'll hear you scream again

Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come
Won't you come
Won't you come

Stuttering
Cold and damp
Steal the warm wind tired friend
Times are gone for honest men
Sometimes far too long for snakes
In my shoes
Walking sleep
In my youth I pray to keep
Heaven send hell away
No one sings like you anymore

Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come
Won't you come

Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come

Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)
Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)
Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)
Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)

Hang my head
Drown my fear
Till you all just disappear

Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come
Won't you come

Black hole sun
Won't you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won't you come

Won't you come (Black hole sun, Black hole sun)
Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)
Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)
Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)
Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)
Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)
Won't you come (Black hole sun, black hole sun)
