Stunning review! I don't know her, but you've made me want to listen to the album, well done!

I fully quote H@rvest, the last 3 albums by PJ don’t really say anything new and are very far from the early ones, but they are all above the level of decency (a bit higher maybe Riot Act). On the other hand, in the hard rock-grunge field, it seems to me that in recent years no one has been able to say anything truly new.

@tricky, that's certainly true, but in fact, I'm not ignoring any milestone. I mean, I ignore a lot of them in the sense that I still don't know them, but I'm certainly not ignoring them out of prejudice; on the contrary, I'm curious to learn everything. For example, a few days ago, I picked up Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division and Grace by Jeff Buckley, now this one by SY, all very different from each other, definitely not prog, and I really enjoyed them. In the end, I stumbled upon prog by chance (a friend of mine recommended Foxtrot...) Since we’re on the subject, and I know nothing about the indie-alternative scene of the '80s (apart from Seattle), could you recommend some albums that you consider essential in this area?

@maryg, I don’t understand who you’re referring to with "lords of prog." Anyway, I don’t know W&W, but from what I know, it seems a bit bold to compare them to Genesis with this album. If you see the connection, that’s fine, but I think it’s purely subjective. @tricky, after all this storm, it might turn out that we even have similar tastes :DDDDD

tricky, the Sonic Youth progressive era irony (not very refined I admit), it's fine to be ignorant but not to the extent of seeing prog in this album!! Marquee Moon has been on the waiting list for a while now, along with many other albums, prog and non-prog. You're right, there’s a whole world beyond Yes: there are Caravan, Camel, Soft Machine, Matching Mole, Hatfield & The North, Khan, Rush, High Tide, Magma, Renaissance.... :DDDDDD Let’s lighten it up, shall we? :D

Reading some scattered sentences about the "generic prog listener" (from which it seems that the attitudes of some – even if they were the majority – prog listeners can automatically be used to deduce the characteristics of ALL prog listeners), a funny "demonstration" by induction comes to my mind: 1 is prime, 3 is prime, 5 is prime, 7 is prime... therefore all odd numbers are prime! (Too bad that 9 is not prime...) Well, but now I'm rambling, too much prog has surely messed with my mind, there's no doubt, even that Daydream Nation I listened to last night was so damn progressive that it truly clouded my thoughts.

Yes, I was just curious, I can't judge a drummer! In fact, Vs and Vitalogy are the best Pearl Jam albums for me, even though I don't think it solely depends on Abruzzese ;) But is it true that they basically "fired" him?

Damn, it's true, it's the sixth not the fifth!! Come on, one more and we'll reach Systematic Chaos :D
