I completely agree with everything said by donjunio, as usual :-) <<but since grunge is a term, as Cobain aptly stated, tremendously effective, it continued to be used, even though it was subject, like everything, to manipulations and distortions by the media.>> I would just add that perhaps we should pay more attention to the literal meaning of the word "grunge" (rotten, decayed, in ruins); from this perspective, it might make more sense to group all the Seattle bands under this single label.
