Eh Psycho, this is the punishment of contrapasso for having bought too many records...

"If you think this attempt at commercialization was inspired by them, you’re totally mistaken; their intention was to create another album in their own way... but here the record label forces the five to change some songs and to discard others." "Very experimental and innovative is n° 1 'New Millennium'" "an acoustic guitar that, heard today, immediately brings to mind Gigi D'Alessio; if you love Gigi, you must listen to this song." "However, Petrucci doesn't hold back on a solo." (what luck!), "if you don't like it, it means you're too traditional and not open enough to innovations." "Definitely! I predict a storm..."

Well, until a few decades ago it was understandably so, especially in certain areas and with the older generations, but now things have changed a lot, I would say. I've been visiting South Tyrol for 20 years, and personally, I have never found anything to complain about in their behavior (I'm talking about Pusteria). In fact, if I have to choose where to spend my vacation between Veneto and South Tyrol, I have no doubts in choosing South Tyrol. Maybe it's because as soon as I cross the borders I immediately feel better, whether it's Germany, Austria, or South Tyrol, it doesn't matter; for me, "over there" the grass is always greener :-))

I completely agree with you; in fact, right now, apart from a few extremist fringes, they’re doing just fine (and with all the money they’re pocketing, who can blame them!). It’s just that sometimes they stir up unnecessary controversies (like Zoeggeler at the Olympics) about the fact that they don’t speak perfect Italian, etc. For example, I've heard plenty of ignorant people complaining because when they go there, the shop signs are in German and people speak German, and I believe it; it’s their mother tongue!

So, out of the whole Alto Adige ski team (and thank goodness they're here, otherwise we'd still be talking about Tomba and Compagnoni), the Moelgg brothers are the ones who speak Italian the best, even in terms of accent. Listen to an interview with Nicole Gius, for instance, and then let me know what you think. Anyway, I visit South Tyrol quite often and I can assure you that many people still hardly understand Italian, and most of them do not feel Italian at all; for them, the real border is with Veneto, not with Austria. And it can only be like that, given that Alto Adige for us is land conquered in war and has nothing to do with Italy, neither linguistically nor culturally.

Mmm, when it comes to progressive USA from the Philadelphia area in the '90s, one group comes to mind, and it really reminds me of Gentle Giant. But frankly, I didn't think you would like them!

Great, I don't know who you are referring to, but everything you do is fine by me! As for the German prog, I still have hope...

I will eagerly await then!! I’m trying to catch up on all the old reviews because your suggestions are always invaluable (how could I not mention Arcadium, String Driven Thing, Linda Perhacs, Kaleidoscope...). Unfortunately, I’m still quite behind on psychedelia, although recently I tried to make a small contribution by reviewing Strangely Strange. See you soon then ;-)
