rightfully more current than the previous ones but IMO less aimed at that blend of boogie, country, gospel, New Orleans sounds that had characterized the previous masterpieces. Perhaps because Lowell George somewhat steps back compared to before, allowing the band to express itself and with Barrere highlighting the funky side also to take a look at the commercial aspect of the matter.

What is there to say about someone who copies the title of a song to make a decent gangster movie with Andy Garcia There are people technically skilled enough to play instruments with a light-year's difference from what he’s doing, and then there are excitable guys who are really into it with their soul, body, and guts, to the point of being plausible characters in those songs that talk about lawyers, gunmen, gamblers, and whores. People who can write melodic ballads and at the same time hard-hitting rock pieces. People who can be both rhetorical and iconoclastic at the same time. For everyone else, there’s technique and a couple of balls to inflate the listener.
