I too, like gg junior and blackdog, have dedicated some healthy raspone to Parisi, and it makes me think poorly of Il_paolo's statement: "I want to emphasize how she was the archetype, back then, of the charming and carefree - sexually innocent and naive, lacking any authentic sexual appeal and charisma sufficient to attract the attention of us young and very young." Another load of nonsense, maybe it wasn’t enough for you Il_paolo...

In 1991, Second Battle reissued the vinyl on CD with two bonus tracks that were the B-sides of Keyes' 1970 single; one edition was standard while the other was the limited and numbered gimmix edition featuring a full unfolding reproduction of the original cover.

The cover of the first Zior is by Marcus Keef, the same as Sabbath, but still, this talk of disembowelments and tortures at Zior shows seems like nonsense to me. It's true that Bonsor was a multimedia artist and their shows were difficult to reproduce on record, but they were limited to lugubrious screams, smoke, light and shadow plays that recalled sacrificial rites, much like what people like Screamin Lord Sutch or Arthur Brown with the Crazy World did before them. Personally, I prefer Zior/Monument to Dr. Z; they are more varied, incorporating heavy blues and psychedelic influences, and in some cases folk, reaching hard progressive in Monument.

Thanks to you, Lewis, you've made me want to write reviews again (maybe even about the Zior) which had somewhat faded after all these Bertie oriettes and Parisi heaters in HP ;-)

Well done, Lewis! The original album was withdrawn from the market after selling just a few hundred copies and, fortunately for collectors, it's worth quite a bit with that cover by Barney Bubbles, who also designed those of Hawkwind. This was the period when Ossianic darkness was all the rage in England, and another result was the records (though heavier than Zior/Monument). However, it must be said that behind all this ambition lies quite a bit of pretentiousness (like with Zior) and a good deal of musical weakness, with this attempt to achieve dark and evocative atmospheres that, in my opinion, come across as quite elementary: keyboards more smoke than fire and repetitive rhythms. They do deserve credit, though, for putting together a dark-progressive album in 1971.

And what do you think about Paolo... a fool like Romeo who sends a review a day (I mean: one a day) of Orietta Berti, Alunni del Sole, Heather Parisi, the mathematics manual, sees that he’s being ridiculed non-stop with tons of double axes (and yet he still insists) is someone who has common sense? And you who praise him (knowing he has no common sense) and even encourage him while taking advantage of it, do you really believe you possess this common sense you talk about?

Personally, rather than this anthology from Newton Compton that divides and categorizes various novels and stories by "genres," I would recommend the 4 volumes of the Oscar Mondadori "Tutti i Racconti" (edited by the talented Giuseppe Lippi) arranged in chronological order from 1897 to 1936. By reading them in temporal progression, one realizes the enrichment of HP's expressive tools as he transitions from the earthly origins of terror to its cosmic dimensions.

"My" Cormack McCarthy is the one from "Blood Meridian" (stratospheric) and the so-called border trilogy. On this theme, a "civil" world that no longer exists, the survivor sitting and watching as the asphalt of the metropolis begins to be reclaimed by the soil and wild chicory, shook me deeply (and I felt it to be 100% true) the book by our Guido Morselli "Dissipatio H.G." written in 1973. At that point, what is the last man supposed to do? Reclaim the essence of nature and things or disappear as well? Morselli resolved the doubt a few years later by committing suicide.

Captain, I advise you to stop for a moment; the more you turn and twist, the more you embarrass yourself (in my personal opinion, of course). Who do I need to apologize to for supporting Alessio Iride, who "was saying Fuck you and the idiots who give you more than 1. Debaser is becoming a dump, populated by well-mannered mediocrities and fools... 5-6 months ago, this review would have been flooded with double 1s... a missed opportunity for a good laugh." Should I apologize to you, to Debaser, or to the established society?
