I write and conclude: other people from Puglia have said that the film wasn't bad and that it should be viewed from a broader perspective, not a narrow one. Totally agree, I concur. The only thing is, I didn't like it. Well, then, to make you happy I'll say that this film is a colossal that deserves every possible and imaginable Oscar, best direction, best actor, best set design, best special effects, best supporting actor, best fucking whatever, best comments on DeBeser and so on.

Am I supposed to be limited just because I didn't like a movie? Furthermore, I've seen plenty of films that address the issues of the south (I mention Totò and Alberto Sordi just to name a couple of greats). These characters knew how to tackle some burning issues (organized crime, hunger, and misery) with a strong dose of humor, without falling into mediocrity. There are no longer any directors and actors like there used to be (do you remember the two marshals with Totò and De Sica Senior? Now that's a classy film). And there's absolutely no need to offend. I would say let's leave it at that.

In my opinion, you must have some problem, my friend. My "I forgive you" was directed at S L B, who jokingly said, "Oops... I just realized that I've mixed up two syllables of your nickname twice... forgive me... I must have unconsciously been sure I typed it correctly ;P." And I ironically responded, "I forgive you..." Now, even a fool with an IQ below the average of fools and a stunted hamster would have understood the joke; S L B didn't even insist on it and probably had a laugh just like I did reading her comment and, why not, the comments from others who showed a broad-mindedness. This was the first point. The second is about the movie, which I absolutely did not like, and no one on this planet will convince me otherwise. Third: I couldn't care less about Ettore Scola. I've caught glimpses of those films, and I can't judge (I think Nino Manfredi was in the first one). Fourth: why should I be forgiven? Because I said a movie disgusts me? In fact: why is this movie anything but a movie, but just crap? Why is Sergio Rubini mediocre both as a director and as an actor? And even if I'm wrong, who are you to judge me or anyone else? The purpose of a review is to provide MERELY SUBJECTIVE opinions. There are people who like Cristian De Sica and all his shitty movies released at Christmas as if they were the classic panettone of the season. And maybe they'll write a review saying they attended yet another blockbuster from the De Sica house. Want to know what I think? I DON'T GIVE A DAMN! At most, I might feel pity for him, but I won't go beyond that. Fifth point (and here I conclude): I already watch animated cartoons, and they're much smarter than this crappy mush forced out by a constipated old man. If you’re going to comment, make sure you've flipped the brain switch to "on." The first comments were intelligent. With this, you've really lost points.

I'm glad that, despite being far from us Southerners, you accepted the film with a large reservation, and especially its indecorous moral. I hope many others up there have taken it like you did.

And you were right... "Operazione San Gennaro" was (sorry: is) a great film; this one is a monstrous piece of crap.

No, anyway, all of you have hit the target perfectly. That is to say, a film of an hour and a half cannot identify with a city reality like that of Bari. In my fervor, that was exactly what I wanted to convey. That's why I used somewhat "strong" tones. I wrote this review using certain expressions because, after watching the film, at first, I remained indifferent. Then I spoke to quite a few people who called it "beautiful," but I hadn't seen anything "beautiful" in it. This same crowd said that "all the people from Bari are like that, and there's nothing you can do." That's when I got really pissed off, and quite a bit (keeping in mind that I am NOT from Bari but from Gravina, one of its many provinces). Then many people from Bari were also offended, and not a little.
I'm sorry, but someone had to tell Rubini and Piva to go fuck themselves. So, I took it upon myself to convey that sentiment.
But there’s more. All the comments posted under the review came from guys/girls from Bari and, anyway, from Puglia (except for S L B who claims to be "unauthorized" but that's not true. Anyone can comment and criticize without shooting, to be fair, random bullshit, and you are not among this lovely crowd. Kisses to you too). They know this reality, for better or worse. But I wonder: what must those think who know nothing about Puglia? What must the people living in central-northern Italy have thought?
Meditate, people, meditate..... it takes a lot to build a little dignity, but it takes very little to shatter it or, worse, to demolish it....
