It's a good album indeed, although it doesn't excite me too much. However, it's early to talk about worrying trends, especially since Mastodon have so far set remarkably high standards. I do hope it grows on me with repeated listens as the reviewer suggested, and that it doesn't become tiresome too quickly.

The very fact that it takes two listens to perceive the dance-pop influences unsettles me. Then there's the drift itself that disturbs me. We're just missing the discovery of this monument to cosmic uselessness in clubs and as background in supermarkets, when it already infests radio and television.
