Pure crystal. Perhaps it’s worth remembering that the two sessions were released in 1986 and 1987 in vinyl format as part of the beautiful 12-inch series by Strange Fruit dedicated to the Peel Sessions, especially for us Italians for whom they were mere utopia. Both recorded before the release of their respective records, I might prefer the first one, with that absence of Hannett as it has been said. But even that "Love will tear us apart" so in the making on the second…

Argh! Luckily, I had invited Lux to smoke the calumet! I'm staying out of any polemics. He gives it a two. I, of course, give it a 5. Absolute masterpiece, one of the most fun rock'n'roll records in history. I’ll just say that at my place it sits between Songs The Lord Taught Us and the two Radio Birdman albums. The recall of Belushi, in toga, smashing the guitar against the freak's wall and going wild in Louie Louie is spot on. Damn, LET'S PARTY!!! (Awesome, with all the crap reviewed, I had noticed it was missing... luckily you thought of it, I was just acting like a maniac). P.S. And indeed, now I'm annoying the entire neighborhood with The Shadow Line blaring!

P.S.: did you know that the other day I received another email saying that you hate me? Just so you know, it's enough for you to hate me once; you don't need to remind me about it every six months :-)

Uh, the return of the Fusillo! Beautiful chick, there's no doubt about it. Are you taking her to the next DeM? Extremely exhaustive, in the sense that someone who has influences like the Inti-Illimani I prefer to keep at a respectful distance (even if the version of Ej hora, hora is not bad at all, and, like with Odra, if Friedlander is playing it, then maybe it intrigues me).

It took me nine months, but it's finally spinning on the turntable. Beautiful. I don't know if it's the best album of 2008, but it comes very close. "13 Blues for Thirteen Moons" in particular is stunning, worthy of the best works of GYBE; the guitar/bass counterpoint in the second part is the kind that gets under your skin. Let’s exaggerate and give it a 5. But yes, 2008 was so poor that we can afford to give one of those albums that actually mean something a little kick... P.S. I see I had already given you a 5, and it was well-deserved.

:-). Hey, you little terronaccio, when you come up to Bolzano, you fool me, send me a private message so you can stop by my place the next day, because coming the day before wouldn’t help the cause, to eat canederli. Uh, Juliana, never kissed, not even with the Blake Babies, slipped away like water. P.s.: but what about this Monica? How’s she doing with men? Does she like DeB reviewers?

Yes, sorry for the rush, Sylvian, I checked out the covers on MySpace, which I frequent precisely to see what covers bands are doing or to hear something live, which seem to me two good indicators of a new band's quality in general. Nice choice, as I said, but poorly executed, poorly, poorly (for Everything's got to learn, for instance, there's a nice rendition by Beck as a b-side. The album seems a bit flat to me. I mean, theoretically, it's a band that should appeal to me, as coordinates, but instead I find it bland. But maybe it's just me that at the moment (for a couple of years), I'm struggling to digest that English sound...

Oh, Ale, if I confess that these things with the muscles always tense, which in the end you feel the PROT, have frankly gotten on my nerves a bit, let’s not start with the usual lament that I’m old, okay? The No Age are great instead, I went back to reread your review. So, even if Terry will accuse me of copying it, PROT it is.
