It seems to me that the only difference lies in the fact that, starting from the same chord, which in King Heroin remains the same from beginning to end, the seventh and eighth bars in Public Enemy are raised in pitch. In other words, the latter is more faithful to the concept of classic blues, while King Heroin leans more towards rhythm and blues, where the lift is done by the horns and not by the guitar. The lyrics of the two songs also share the same theme. In short: it seems that JB finds the formula and repeats it (the two tracks originally are also on the same record). Therefore, the differences ultimately lie only in the arrangement, and I prefer that of King Heroin, precisely because it is set against an apparent total stillness.
