As Paolo Rossi would say: I have seen the best minds of my generation ruined by perch. As the wise Odra would say, do yourselves a favor and stop it here. Damn, it's spring, that's what I say.

This collection is rather dispensable. In the sense that it leaves out so many great Young songs that one wouldn’t really know what to do with it. Don, do you have any news about the blessed Archives? It seems that they can be pre-ordered on Amazon at a stratospheric price (they're in Blu-ray), but it seems like they haven't been released yet, and I don’t understand what they will contain, aside from a live from the series that started a couple of years ago.

Mister Sfascia, I came to read the review and it was at -9000. Now it’s at plus 9500. I hope you realize that my 5 is worth a DeRango of 18,500! Gulp, all of this seems fantastic to me!

Mister Sfascia, does he realize what a piece of crap DeRango has? -9,000... What the hell is this? To punish it, I’ll give it a nice 5 and inform it that I've already ordered the item in question, of course in its triple vinyl edition. Please come back to us... Where did he discover these? You can't even find them in the giant pack of PAI chips!

Ah, one last boring note and then I'll go to sleep: I also thought of Kina in the choirs, but I fear Ale is too young to have heard them. Sooner or later, I will review them. So post-hardcore fits, but it wasn't in DeGeneri...

@ Mocampo: Mister Sfascia has made a bit of a mess. In fact, if you click on the link, you'll go back to the review. Copy the link and then delete the references to the review and go to the Myspace of Iride. You can download them there. @ Boredom: I'm coming back to the post-rock issue since Ole also reproaches me for it. For me, post-rock has always been Slint and their epigones, that is, the Touch & Go scene, Albini and family. Then Chicago became Louisville, but also Washington post-Fugazi. Only in recent years have I discovered that post-rock also means Mogwai or Sigur Ros, who obviously have nothing to do with Iride. In short, it’s a big melting pot where everything fits. I think, however, that the reference to Jawbox, confirmed by Ale, is the right one. I discover from wiki that the latter are post-hardcore. Od(d'Io), I believe it's impossible to make sense of it...

@ Dear Fedee, there is no vote because I would have had to spend too much time explaining it. I believe it's clear that the opinion is positive, confirmed by the other DeBaseriani. But my vote would have been too relative, meaning, when giving ratings in reviews, are they given in the context of rock history or in the realm of a first self-produced record by an emerging band? If I had been among the posters, I would have voted, just like I did in Sid's review @ Ale, acknowledging that I got it right on the Jawbox issue, and I'm very proud of that and I had a great evening; I believe I can also understand the matter of the vocal mix. For your vision of rock music, the mixing is just right. For mine, which is notably more pop, the vocals should be higher. You well know that one of the secrets of Nevermind (mentioned only because it's a landmark in mixing) is how high the vocals are mixed. When I did the mix of my CD, which then turned out to be a mess (mixed by someone who had his own mixed by Giulio Favero, but then had a fallout and mixed it himself, can you believe how small the world is?), I always kept the vocals clear and prominent (I even had a singer better than yours :-). Result: as I already told you, Wallace said no because the voice was too melodic, while the sound of the instruments was liked. I probably should have sent it to Geffen :-).

Good evening and thank you to everyone who showed up: I’m first of all glad that the page interests many DeBaser fans. @Giustiziere, I’ll try to respond to all the points that require a response: 1) "spaccamaroni" is affectionate; it’s also well-known that, roughly speaking, I like Ale, just like other "spaccamaroni" on the site like Valerio Rivoli or, once, Sanjuro. Those I don’t like are just "maroni" and nothing else. 2) I actually don’t mind the album cover. 3) The best song on the album, besides "d'IO", seems to me to be the opener "Papillon", which is, in fact, positioned as the opener. 4) We don’t need to get me to take responsibility for the nonsense I write. Moreover, I can make mistakes, like everyone. 5) I understand the lyrics, in the verses, very little (and Hardrock reassures me), I thought it was because I’m half deaf, but Hardrock, who is much younger than me, thinks the same way. Or maybe I have a crappy CD player (I do have a great turntable). I reiterate: singing in Italian is difficult and one needs to articulate the words better if one has something to say. 6) For me, they have drive. 7) Thank God there are no solos. 8) Thanks for the compliment, even though it seems like a joke. 9) I’ve answered everything. @Ole, maybe it’s a bit punk too, but for me, punk influenced by Slint and the Chicago scene is post-rock, since I can’t use the term post-punk (which I had considered as well).
