Pino Daniele Che Dio Ti Benedica

He made some great albums... but after the SCIO' LIVE he didn't say much to me, up until the abyss reached in the last 15 years.
Miles Davis In A Silent Way
Voto:
MILES' ELECTRIC period is very interesting. For me, this album, a prelude to what was to come (BITCHES BREW, LIVE/EVIL), is unmissable and worth *****, especially considering it's the first record where, using CUT/UP techniques, that is POSTPRODUCTION, the language of jazz was innovatively and radically transformed (since then jazz-rock and then, in the '70s with fusion, rock-jazz). The structure exists in these pieces and is left to the POSTPRODUCTION of that genius TEO MACERO. Those who have listened to the various box sets of the SESSIONS know what I'm referring to... from the cauldron of lengthy jams, MACERO would extract "phrases" that he then reassembled into the so-called official piece. But we cannot underestimate the contribution of remarkable musicians, the electricity, the insights, the great compositions (IN A SILENT WAY is wonderful and DAVIS' arrangement, although opposed by ZAWUINUL, is brilliant)... for me *****, without ifs or buts.

Traffic Traffic

Although the album is stunning, it is still a work of TRANSITION. The TRAFFIC didn't quite know which path to take after the blockbuster debut of MR. FANTASY. Thus, in this record, you can find all the moods and passions of the group members. If I'm not mistaken, this is the last one with MASON, but I could be wrong... After this album, the figure of WINWOOD definitely took over, supported by CAPALDI and WOOD. ** full, for me.
Nirvana Nevermind
Voto:
I agree with the review that this album is produced like any pop record and that many tracks are EXCESSIVELY RADIO-FRIENDLY, true pop tunes masquerading as ALTERNATIVE ROCK, etc. This - as is well known - really pissed off COBAIN and his bandmates. And this speaks volumes about the subsequent choices of NIRVANA for their next (final) album. Then there are some disagreeable phrases here and there, but one appreciates the courage: here on DEBASER, NIRVANA is immensely popular, and every critical note is seen as an affront.
Sonny Rollins Saxophone Colossus
Voto:
The notes driven by MUFFIN and CONTEMPLATION are shareable. The review, confused in the final conclusions from SEQUEL SCI-FI (if he had died and blah blah)... this sentence is true: "If Coltrane was a carefree saxophonist full of humor"?
The album is a GREAT UNFALTERING CLASSIC. Just for the revival it’s worth 3 + the usual professionalism - the conclusions = **

True and false at the same time to say that 68 American = 77 Italian. The 77 was very ideologized (of the worst ideology) and VIOLENT (something that the hippies were unaware of and repudiated!).
Vasco Rossi Live @ Stadio Delle Alpi 22.09.2007

One can understand the general SCHIFO generated by VASCO, given his latest production. But it cannot be denied that in the stale Italian landscape he has represented something DIFFERENT and has also produced good albums (I repeat, almost everything is saved until LIVE IN SANSIRO). It’s Italy’s fate: to despise artists when they are at their peak (COLPA D'ALFREDO was censored and there was a real media attack on Vasco during those years), and then to glorify them once they "normalize." Vasco won the TARGA TENCO - I believe for CANZONI PER ME - and in his thanks, he said he dedicated the coveted recognition to what he had done at the beginning of his career, demonstrating an intellectual honesty that few acknowledge. Now I know you will call me a VASCOROSSIANO (which is not true), but how many FALSE INTELLECTUALS OF SONG have been living off royalties for decades? Vasco has been doing the same for over 10 years… He behaves like the STONES: he makes albums to go on TOUR, given the demand. media phenomena

(STUPID QUESTION)...but if your grandfather is from '68, how old are you? A lot of ink has been spent on '68 and what it meant, and we refer to that entirely. But it was everything but a "betrayed" or "failed" revolution.
The MC5 are what you would call a "seminal" band. This is a must-have, their best.
