Martin Scorsese The Aviator
Voto:
Casino is practically De Niro's last real film, and it's been 15 years. What a shame.

I didn't like this Aviator much, apart from DiCaprio's performance. Among Scorsese's recent works, which are less brilliant compared to the glories of the past, I really enjoyed "The Departed": but maybe that's just because of Jack, whom I adore.
Martin Scorsese Shutter Island
Voto:
I was a bit disappointed: enjoyable for its carefulness and the beautiful direction in the editing and cinematography, but too convoluted in its desperate attempt to achieve a surprise ending. It mirrors the structure and atmospheres of "The Others" and "The Sixth Sense": perhaps a bit too much. DiCaprio is in great form. Yes-No? Nì

I really like this album. Up until Seventh Son, they kicked ass in quick succession. That said, I absolutely prefer "A Piece Of Mind." 1 to the review because I'm old and now I have one less diopter.

Sdoll, you stole my comment by a few seconds :)

To me, more than pulp fiction, it reminds me a bit of "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch," which I think are a notch above. However, it's very nice and flows well in the genre: a solid 3 fat stars.

You're right about Laurent. Here, more than in Bastardi senza gloria, it's truly sublime. I like it a lot: it's not beautiful, but it's a character and conveys great emotion with that melancholic smile. I love going to the cinema and I avoid wasting money also because I just can't give up a good cinema.

In the genre, along with Virgin Steele, they are the best for me. I don’t know this one. Well done.
Barry Levinson Rain Man

Among the top films you mentioned, I would also add The Graduate (my favorite along with "Marathon Man"). An actor of truly impressive skill. Great review, great film.

Ken, if you use that comment once, it makes you smile, but the second time, much less so. By the third time, we’re calling Raul.
