To my tastes, which are evidently completely different from those of the critics, it is utterly indigestible like all the children of The Tiger and The Dragon. Technically flawless, but block-like in my eyes: the fact that my significant other had to elbow me in the ribs to wake me up halfway through the screening is proof of that. A well-crafted and well-written script down to the finest details.

This is a great "classic" review that I enjoyed and it flowed nicely despite being quite long. The first two paragraphs, in particular, find me completely in agreement. So five stars, but much more of a 5 than the last five I gave to debasio lately ;) The movie, for all you've said, is not at the top of the heap of things to see in the short term.
