Avantasia 1 and 2 were easy power metal music. A shamelessly commercial opera that has gained and still has prominence due to the names surrounding it... now it's more rock and even has pop moments, but I don't see the night-and-day change in terms of commerciality between the first two easy chapters and this third one. Avantasia is a sort of summary, a way to introduce neophytes to metal in a soft manner with elaborate and ultra-pompous melodies. If you're looking for non-commercial products in the METAL realm, Avantasia is the worst place to go, as shown by the numerous comments here on Debaser, which is not a specialized site. In fact, now you’ve made me want to review a non-commercial and more complex metal opera that only a few obviously know: AINA. Do you know it?

I renew my invitation to all hard rockers and those who appreciate melodic metal. Give it a listen if you have the chance... a new talent to support.

not just those... you wrote a nice load of crap with the final closing, showing that you are an open-minded person to those who think differently from you.

Unjustified enthusiasm or disappointment combined with insipid track-by-track reviews, in my opinion, make reviews feel cold and futile. A decent CD that sees a necessary change in sound brought about by Blaze, who has infinitely lower tones compared to Bruce. The CD suffers from having one track that is too vertiginous compared to everything else, which is often skipped entirely. A decent CD that has been massacred, leading to the decline of Iron Maiden. In truth, the band was going through a creative crisis, and Steve Harris & Co. realized too late that they made a huge mistake in choosing a singer completely different from Bruce, given that Iron Maiden is incredible live... but with a voice like Blaze's (beautiful but dark), how can you sing about the glorious past???

Aren't Manilla Road also epic?

Well, first of all, thank you very much. I see that the album is divisive. In fact, I think it's normal to distance oneself quite a bit from the previous two chapters. By now, the power metal of the '90s is dead and gone along with its interpreters, and between 2002 and 2008, a lot of water has flowed under the Edguy bridge. Mandrake is pure melodic power metal, while Hellfire Club and Rocket Ride show increasingly strong influences of rock and melodic hard rock. But it's not just the Edguy of Mr. Sammet. Moderate tempos, rougher vocals, and the use of orchestrations instead of neoclassical solos: these are the elements of the future of this genre that will replace rapid guitar riffs, double bass, siren-like vocals, and fantasy concept albums. Times change, and power metal tries to survive by mutating a bit. Some appreciate it, some don’t... I’m in the middle :) Until next time.

I preface that I'm not a fan of Manowar, but as far as I know, Manowar were a band dedicated to epic metal and this product is really well done in that light. It makes me feel nauseous, but for a true fan of Manowar (not the recent ones), this should be pure gold...

In conclusion, in my personal intervention, the review is, in my opinion, too general. It superficially addresses the core of the film and wastes phrases trying to compare pears (this film) with apples (other war films) or gets lost in unnecessary descriptions of the cast, cinematography, and direction in general. Those are all secondary things that are much less important in a film you yourself defined as philosophical... perhaps you could have developed the message the director conveys better. Bye bye.

But I don’t understand why there are comparisons with other war films… this product is different. The plot is secondary and the director tries to delve into the souls of all the soldiers who are going to die and all the thoughts that inevitably cross their minds when they find themselves in the situation of having to kill and risk their lives. Is there a God if all this exists? Why does it happen? Why… etc. A philosophical film and only afterward a war film, which is why it’s particularly slow. We enter the mind of the protagonist while the war unfolds and disturbs his soul. Certainly not a film to watch on a Friday night with friends.

Lost in Space is a colorless track from the cd...as you'll notice, I haven't placed it among the highs or the lows.
