King Crimson Discipline

Since we're on the theme of coming out, I confess to God and to you, brothers, that at 14, I was all about the Pooh. If today I know the King Crimson, it's solely thanks to the clerk at Messaggerie Musicali, who mistakenly gave me "In the Court of the Crimson King" instead of "Forse ancora poesia" by the Pooh, which I found to be a definite step forward compared to "Un po' del nostro tempo migliore," at least regarding Red Canzian's hairstyle.
Having said that, I can't rate this review anything less than 5. And anyone who does, even in a better world than this one, deserves to be condemned to an unbroken reading of Natalia Aspesi.
As for me, to be honest—and I'll conclude here—I don't see anything wrong with reviewing an album that's already been reviewed. If anything, it's more difficult, and therefore more interesting. It becomes a challenge with others, but especially with oneself. Like some form of extracurricular masturbation.

I can't take it anymore, hearing that the best album by King Crimson is Discipline. It would be like saying that the best pope in the history of the Church is Ratzinger. Enough, please.

Dear GiovanniA, the dirty work you do on this dirty site of dirty metalheads reminds me of Mendelssohn bringing us the dear, old Bach.
Even though I don't comment and leave no other traces of my passage (like, for example, writing "TVB" on all your Berio albums), I always read you (and I have always), what do you think?

I agree with Barracuda Blue. Perfect definition. If Woody Allen were to remake "Manhattan" today, he could only choose this as the soundtrack. Forget about Gershwin.

Yes. Re-reading it on the site, I agree with the initial opinion, that of Extro91. The little page doesn’t “flow” as it should. Moreover, in many parts it frankly feels heavy, if not pretentious. It must be said, as a partial excuse, that this formatting of the text plays its part. My own, for the significance this may hold – no offense to the editors... – was different. A “new paragraph” is a “new paragraph.” You can’t just add or remove it at will. Sometimes, it’s something that can rebalance – or unbalance – an entire page. Or not?

Mom, mom, mom, what an album.

The mere existence of a genre called "apocalyptic folk" throws me, à la fois, into despair and the most disillusioned illusion. Mersì very mucho, my good friend.

Look, son: 5 all your life. If only for that opening with "àmbito" with such a stressed accent. Sciapò.

The funniest thing about good old Prokofiev is that he died about an hour after Stalin, the man who made his life as a musician so difficult. What a grotesque irony. Thank you for the review. Clear and, at times, even poetic. "A folate," Pizzul would say.

In my personal opinion, we are talking about the most successful album by EELST, one that manages to combine music and "meaning" in a way that even the highly praised "Eat the Phikis" couldn't achieve. Then again, as always, it doesn't mean that "meaning" necessarily has to translate into tears of laughter. Unless, unfortunately, one continues to stubbornly view the group as a "silly music" band (God forgive you!).
So, if "the lyrics don't even bring a smile to [...]", it's because that song has no intention of creating much laughter. Not at every turn, at least. Perhaps try to enjoy the transition from a 5/8 time signature to what is a 9/8 (nine eighths!) and then to a 13/8 (thirteen eighths!), or the words from Julius Caesar (if I'm not mistaken from the overused "De Bello Gallico"), towards the end of the song.
Then, perhaps, in the next discussion, we can talk about all the musical references contained within.
