The Simpsons are an institution, you’re right, but you exaggerate. Just to annoy you a bit with South Park, do you know what its greatest innovation is? It's the comedy within the plot, not in the gags. You can't deny that. And with that lineup of fantastic characters that the Simpsons have, it's a bit of a shame that the satire is all in the gags. Additionally, the fact that the references and political satire in the Simpsons are hard to catch makes them a bit more moderate, while in South Park the satire is evident, but that doesn’t make it any less brilliant. You're right, the Simpsons are awesome, but I think you attribute merits to them that they don’t have.
