I like both Bathory and Manowar... if I had to choose, I would prefer Manowar, even though the genres are a bit different. Manowar can be more closely associated with epic metal, while Bathory is more aligned with black and thrash, especially in their early albums which featured tracks like "Woman Of Dark Desire," "Hades," and "Enter The Eternal Fire." Two amazing bands!!

Ah Bartleboom, or rather Bartledoom, I'm curious to read the album review you'll be doing for Pentagram.. it's a band whose music I've only heard a few tracks from, that is, the ones available on their MySpace page.
Metallica St. Anger

For me, the standout songs from "Saint Anger" are "Frantic" and "Some Kind Of Monster"... the title track is just noise! Anyway, Ulrich's snare sound is terrible, it sounds like he's playing on a frying pan! Let's hope for the upcoming album…

Thanks to Hell and Vincent Valentine for the tip on Gorgoroth... I'll make sure to check out those tracks you mentioned... I only knew them by name.

Hell, what do you think are the most beautiful songs by Gorgoroth? It's been a while since I've heard them mentioned, I've seen some tracks on MySpace but I've never listened to anything good. Could you recommend something? In terms of true Norwegian black metal, they're the only ones I have left to explore better.

Oh no Bartelboom, doom isn't yours, you haven't reviewed Candlemass yet!! :))

Well, I don't know what to tell you Hell..the review is very nice, it's complete and centers your ideas about the album well. Beyond that, I can tell you that I’ve only heard "The Serpentine Offering" and "The Chosen Legacy" from "In Sorte Diaboli." The former is really beautiful, almost like the twin sister of the equally amazing "Progenies Of The Great Apocalypse," while the latter is a bit less exciting. I haven’t heard the other tracks.. anyway, from what I've heard so far, there are those who praise it and those who overlook it; I find myself in the middle, meaning I don’t like it, but what little I heard convinced me. Well, we are certainly very far from the masterpieces "Stormblast," "For All Tid," and "Enthrone Darkness Triumphnat!"

I only like "Frantic" and "Some Kind Of Monster" from this album.. the title track is a jumble of chaos and unnecessary speed! "Saint Anger" is an album that I really don't like.. let's hope that the next work, which should come out soon, is a bit better. I'm not saying they should make another "Kill 'Em All" or "Master Of Puppets," but at least five or six decent songs.

Great Bathory!! "Hammerheart" is a beautiful work of pure viking metal! Quorton is a genius and this album, along with the early ones, is proof of it.. "One Road To Asa Bay" is a classic of the genre, as well as the solemn title track and the long "Shores In Flames". Well done, excellent review for a band that deserves so much! ENTER THE ETERNAL FIRE!!

mien_mo_man, I'm glad you like Saint Vitus, especially their first album, which is a cornerstone of doom metal! I also recommend "Death Penalty" by Witchfinder General and the early works of Candlemass! INTO THE VOID!!
