Psycroptic, I’ll answer for you. Italy has always been like this, a country that never cared about good music, but only about the frivolous and trivial stuff that could attract people to TV shows. There were valid bands in Italy, like Banco, PFM, Orme, Area, Il Rovescio Della Medaglia, but all the other hard rock bands have never been able to break out of the underground. This is a problem that, unfortunately, still holds true today; the situation hasn’t changed by a comma, indeed it has worsened significantly. Do you know of any bands in Italy that can be compared to Zeppelin or Sabbath??? NO. Or rather, there have been and there will be some, but they never had the support of record labels and everything else. This is very sad, both for the music itself, for the true artists, and for us who would like to see more space for rock in Italy instead of the cheap tunes. Instead, a question I ask is: "How many millennia do we have to endure this situation of filth and ignorance????" Unfortunately, I already have an answer.
