Yeah yeah! I agree :D great times and amazing bands from a sound that's now almost forgotten! The good old N.W.O.B.H.M. thanks also for the votes! :D

You're welcome! ;) I haven't listened to the other group, but the The Watch, from what I've heard, are not bad at all, actually. Maybe they could use a bit more personality, more originality... while still staying within the Genesis style. Sometimes the influences of "Nursery Cryme" and "Selling England.." are very evident. Anyway, they're one of the many bands out there... but I'll stick to the 70s, hehehe! ;)

@DEFENDER1: Since you were looking for current prog bands, mostly Italian, I can recommend The Watch. They're from Milan, you can find them on YouTube and their MySpace: Welcome to the new Myspace! They obviously have some influences from Genesis and their atmospheres. You might find them interesting, search for them if you want... quite famous abroad too ;)

Thank you so much DEFENDER1! :D Yes, I noticed you have great taste too... keep it up. Well, if you didn't like this review, de gustibus, that's okay, I did my best. Maybe check out the others I posted recently... Still Life, Clark Hutchinson - "Retribution" and "Sensation's Fix - "Fragments of light" :D Have a great day too!

I'm desperately looking for "Mr. E. Jones" by Nuova Idea... I have "Clowns," which is very nice. :)

Of course DEFENDER1!! I'm not challenging anyone, you know.. in fact, I'm just having a little chat with you all! I talked about influences and then, since I daily research Italian progressive, I generously recommended some little gems that not everyone tells you about. For instance, I'm re-listening to De De Lind this morning.. "Fuga e Morte", "2000 anni", "E Poi" are great tracks.. Then I also listened to some hints like Rocky's Fiji and so on.. I'm not trying to act clever. I'm simply sharing the bands I know, which are not few, to help those discovering prog. That's all.. with my modest personality. Cheers!

You're right.. I'd say it's not much.. but we'll never be like before.. or rather, those who are willing to take risks now need to have more space. The good thing is that progressive still lives on.. just look at the English or American rock scene. In metal, I could mention Mastodon, whom I also saw at the Gods, as well as Wolfmother with their 70s hard rock blues.. in short, Led Zeppelin and King Crimson persist and will always persist!

I would also recommend Toad, great hard rock blues, the first two CDs by Il Volo, the first two by Circus 2000, and "Melos" by Cervello. Search for them; they are truly great works. These can also be found on YouTube or on their MySpace to get an idea.. happy listening! :D

Great review and great catch! :D They also deserve a lot, but I won't say who is better or worse... saying they are more interesting than Campo di Marte can certainly be a matter of taste. I mean, I don't have preferences; as you can see, I listen to all the Italian prog bands. Recently, I've been checking out these Alusa Fallax, and I have to say they are not bad at all. Great voice, powerful, sometimes aggressive... excellent keyboards and a strong determination from the band. The most beautiful tracks are the title track, "Riflessioni al tramonto," "Poco quello che conosco," "Non fatemi caso," "Fuori di me, dentro di te." Good job! ;)

@PAVELOESCOBAR: ok then thanks, I'll drop by! :D
@SUPERSOUL: I had to search for the Campo di Marte online and on eMule, since it's nearly impossible to find them in stores.. if you're lucky enough to gently leaf through the vinyl, good for you ;)
@DEFENDER1: just so you know, what you're saying is exactly what I think and always say, haha.. XD I mean instead of rehashing the usual nostalgic speech about 70s prog and comparing it to commercial music, I found it trivial. I preferred to talk about the CD, that's all, which as you can see is unique.. it hasn't been reviewed 356 times.
Then if you want to know about two CURRENT Italian bands, not from the 70s, I could come up with an endless list, XD but I wouldn't know much. Just consider that there are many emerging bands, but as you can see, the reunions and guest appearances from PFM, Le Orme, Balletto di Bronzo are always heard.
