But you see, for De Andrè's music there was no need for great instrumentalists, nor did he have the pretension of composing timeless melodies. He simply masterfully adapted the lyrics to the music. And tell me, what kind of music would you want to accompany De Andrè's lyrics?

Well, yeah... they’ve already told you enough about La Buona Novella, let’s forget it.

Uhm... but wasn't it "A blasphemer" for Pinelli? Who knows, anyway, the lyrics of "Canzone del padre" and "Nella mia ora di libertà" should be carved into the rocks of time. Or “…you'll go live with Alice who makes whisky by distilling flowers or with a Casanova who promises to introduce you to his parents..." so impactful! That little bit of prog in "Sogno numero due" is lovely too.

The most beautiful album by De André, and also one of the best records Italy has ever known, if not the best! Every single moment of this album is sublime, touching, words woven together with immeasurable poetic quality, perfectly matched to the music.. 10+
