If someone else had done it, it would have been a shitty movie if they had pretended to make a serious film. But knowing Tarantino's motivations and a bit of his history (video store clerk, crazy cinephile who watches anything that comes on), you can't consider it crap. In short, if another director had made a film like this with Tarantino's motivations, it would have been received—I'm not saying equally well, because many went to see this film just because it’s Tarantino’s—but still very well.

I'm not explaining it anymore, I'm really fed up, I've already said it. Anyway, if you've seen it by mistake, fine, but knowing what Tarantino said about this movie before it came out is essential to not being left disappointed. Essentially, he said it's a tribute to all the B-movies he watched when he was younger, so basically it's not a real film, it's entertainment while waiting for the new work... a tribute, in short!

hugoniot I'm replying to everything if I can..so the dialogues might annoy you, but they are Tarantino to the nth degree. If you don't like these, you can't appreciate Tarantino; the directing and editing are done intentionally, it's not hard to understand, just like the myriad of mistakes sprinkled throughout this film are also deliberate. The ideas are recycled from all the B-movies that Tarantino has fed on for years..hugoniot, have you read anything about what Tarantino said regarding this film? Because from how you talk about it, it seems like you went there expecting to see something extraordinary; he said that’s how the film was, I don't find anything to be angry about. And hell, I went to the cinema and had a good laugh! Rather than wasting money! I'd also be curious to see how they presented it in America. Then the mere fact that you say that the good Tarantino films can be counted on one hand smells a bit fishy..he made Reservoir Dogs (masterpiece), Pulp Fiction (masterpiece), Jackie Brown (for 3/4 masterpiece), Kill Bill (half masterpiece), damn I’d like to see how many contemporary directors you know capable of churning out 4 films like that..sure, they can be counted on one hand..he made just those! Avoiding falling into crap just to make a buck.

Of course, if someone listens to this and says "ah, the times of Parklife..." I don't know how well they're doing; aside from the fact that that album came out at least 10 years ago, even Blur with their last two albums are clearly superior to Parklife.

Hugoniot, of course, there’s nothing in this movie! Damn, but it was explicit, Tarantino! I don’t understand all this outrage. Plus, anyone who says "belle fighette"... that was said by the guy who played the Milanese in the movies with Calà... and it was ugly back then too! I’m voting 5 again because it’s a great film that has fun mocking everyone.
