I went through the metal phase too, even if sometimes I get called out for it; I listened (and still listen) to a bit of everything. Lately, I had been diving into folk metal, which I find absolutely great (Korpiklaani, to name one that I really go crazy for). Then there are other names aside from the classics (Maiden, Judas, Metallica, Savatage); I could mention Blind Guardian, Turisas, and Therion (originally black metal but with a ton of strange stuff in it), and a million other little bands. Anyway, you should check out Korpiklaani, metal fans who mix folk music with bagpipes and crazy stuff!
