for heaven's sake.. they were born when the new grunge had just emerged (aaaaaaaaaa horrible!!) and they could be listened to without too many expectations.. now you tell me they've become even worse.. it's the classic band that will disappear soon if they don't find a clear identity.. and honestly, there will be few who will miss them..

Hmm.. all this advertising about Bruce returning to his roots and blah blah blah, only to deliver an album that’s at most three stars.. I preferred The Rising.. clearly! Nice review!

I also stand with young! Stills, unfortunately, I can't digest it and this album for me is the only one out of the entire production that meets the minimum standard.. a wasted musician.. what a pity..

Supersoul, I didn’t come up with this whole thing about content, and I fully agree when you say that I can see them in a work and you cannot (it's the example I made for Amarcord). When I referred to the essential classics, I was talking about the phenomenal list by Poletti (do you remember it?) where 100 must-see films were listed that absolutely needed to be watched to understand cinema; otherwise, you were just a no-good. One for one reason, another for another, they were all there… for directing reasons, content, or whatever. I remember being disgusted by the fact that Poletti wanted to pass it off as the list of the most beautiful films ever, which was a complete load of crap.

Well, the comparison between Easy Rider and Gone with the Wind, I don’t know who came up with it, but it’s really nonsense. Pole, I believe you went to some film school, and in any respectable film school, it’s said first of all that genres should be respected. I mean, Pole (but also everyone else), would you compare Gone with the Wind to The Goonies??? No, because maybe someone really does that and also believes it’s a great thing. It’s like comparing 50s sci-fi to 2001: A Space Odyssey… or comparing Battisti to Pearl Jam… I mean, nonsense… At least on this, you agree, Poletti (although I hope you didn’t come up with this comparison)? Then okay, there are films that are undoubtedly essential classics… but that’s another story… Anyway, I still maintain that a film without content cannot really be a great film… maybe without manifest content, but evidently Amarcord for Fellini meant something; it had its "content".

I never really did those bullshit discussions about record sales = worse record. Simply put, in my opinion, After the Gold Rush is three steps above Harvest, an album made a bit to please the fans, a bit due to Neil's well-known back problems during that time. Obviously, it’s a great record, and I’ve never said otherwise, but I believe it gets overshadowed when compared to the others. In short, don’t put words in my mouth: Harvest is beautiful, but for me, at least 6-7 albums from Uncle Neil come first. Anyway, it’s a must-have.

Besides the fact that, no matter how much you may appreciate it for its undeniable technical merits, Gone with the Wind wants to convey a message, of course.
Finally, I remind you that many of your beloved critics appreciate this film not only for its acclaimed technical merits, which, as you say, can alone elevate a movie (this aspect is quite debatable as well).

but if you write to us about the ophthalmology section, Polletti, what are you talking about??? Then your statement that Gone with the Wind has no content is at least questionable: it undoubtedly has content, and it has aged, as everyone can notice, but if it had none, as you say, it would be a terrible film... a film without content?? what would that even mean? mah...

No, wait, I didn't say it's among the least beautiful... no, no, far from it! Absolutely not!

captainhowdy on debaser everyone insults everyone for the slightest petty thing, so don’t worry that soon they'll tell you too that you’re a case of humanity, that you don’t understand a damn thing, that your sister is a whore, that if they beat you up the U2 you’re gay, that captain beefheart is the best, that only movies from the '40s are good, the beatles are shit, metallica invented nothing, pozzetto is a genius, you’re an idiot, it was better when sanjuro was around... and with this, I’ve given you a little taste of the things you’ll hear.
