"Can you explain to me why Mr. Big has been the best rock-hard rock band of the last 20 years?"
Right, I made a mistake in writing: IN MY OPINION, they are the best band of the last 20 years... and I can give you a few small reasons, both to you and to Black Dog, who seems so skeptical about Mr. Big (I don’t know why). First of all, FOR ME they are the band that has best combined an ENORMOUS technical skill (Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan... and Eric Martin and Pat Torpey were no less) with top-level melodic artistry (name one bad song they’ve made). Monsters of technique, of course, but they never distorted the melody of their songs with absurd and pompous technicalities (and here we could open an endless debate talking about Dream Theater, Malmsteen, that is, great technique but songs that convey very little, simply "stuff for ACADEMICS" and not much else...). A band that had very little success in America and zero in Europe, yet they became incredibly popular in Japan: they deserved much more than what they got, and in fact, they are never taken into consideration here, never mentioned: one of the most underrated bands of all time. I hope I’ve expressed myself clearly... Of course, tastes are tastes, I myself love Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog...

"..they were the BEST of the '90s."
Well, I won't even mention NIRVANA, but LONG before these fake-alternative-rock/grunge bands, there were certain SOUNDGARDEN and TEMPLE OF THE DOG, not to mention the PEARL JAM, and we're only talking about Grunge and Grunge/rock bands, because if we venture into ROCK/HARD-ROCK, there are dozens of bands ten times better than these, starting with MR. BIG, who are truly the best rock-hard rock band of the last 20 years, or STEELHEART with Michael Matijevic, or ZAKK WILDE, who has done extraordinary work both as a solo artist and with BLACK LABEL SOCIETY; and if we then dip into METAL, well, then you'll realize just how much your Smashing Pumpkins are actually worth. I also remember an episode of the Simpsons where Homer was doing a sort of human cannonball, and the Smashing Pumpkins and other similar '90s bands came out, poking fun at their DEPRESSING music, with crowds of young people who all looked anesthetized and drugged. Legendary Simpsons, awful band!

A colossal piece of crap, okay, script, plot, acting are crap... but come on, some sketches are funny!.. and anyway, Scary Movie 1 and 3 are definitely the masterpieces of the genre...

"..But having already listened to it, I have the opportunity to talk to you about it in advance.."
As almost everyone here has already pointed out, this is the 6th or 7th review of this record in less than a month...

Racer X is great, Paul Gilbert alone is worth listening to this band (and this album), but in my opinion, Paul’s best band has definitely been Mr. Big...
